Eh, mine is #221 ... must be the 'unofficial number' then, because I am a Site Founder, meaning I earned that title for being the first 200 ppl joining this site ...

I would regard 221 as the unofficial number. The ids in profile links are the ids of your account. It wasn't until around id ~250 that 200 were officially confirmed and registered.

(If you care about a certain id for some reason, you can use like https://piratesforums.co/members/1, it will redirect appropriately.)

As for what's not counted, spam bots/banned users, and people who never clicked the 'confirm' link in their email.
