Ahoy ,same issue here :/ yesterday i was trying to play but cant connect to server - tried several times. After reading this post and clearing cache I was able to log ,but all my settings (music ,gfx resolution/details) were wiped out ,after bringing back my previous settings client need to be reset , so I do it... ... but still cant connect to game server .
 
I emailed tlopo with my log file and they said to reinstall the game so I did. When installing it automatically had 12 updates with it. I have been able to log on since then but I still get the message that I cannot connect the first time. But after the first time it connects. So I would say reinstall the game and make sure it is giving updates with it. See if this works. If it doesn't I would suggest you all send log files to them as I did and see if they have another solution for you.
