So, creating a new game must be a pain in the butt. Reverse -engineering the server side without having any of the game files....well that must be some fresh level of hell. I have all the sympathy in the world for the devs here.

But (you knew that was coming, right?) - it is extremely frustrating to be unable to connect to the game and be totally in the dark .Does staff know? Are they working on it? Is it fixed yet?

So here's my suggestion. Can we get just a teeny bit of communication on these things from staff? Like "We are having an issue with our servers and are working on it", "servers are back up and you should be able to access the game now".

It doesn't have to be explicit or even promise a time when it will be done - just let us players know whether it's us or the game that is having issues, and when it is back up. Perhaps we could have a thread dedicated to just that, for staff to comment on only (so it doesn't get cluttered with complaints, we have threads for that).

I understand what you're saying. We pretty much already do this. My job is to watch all the threads that are made and help out wherever possible. I personally answer a good majority of questions that are asked, and have written several threads communicating how things work so that we can be on the same page. Many other staff members have done the same. We do communicate, and quite often. You just have to be willing to research threads that others have made.

What we can do is make a new thread - maybe titled "Server Notifications" - and have it be a centralized "update" thread where TLOPO staff can notify everyone that an update is happening, the servers are experiencing an error, the servers are being DDoSed, etc. It wouldn't be a place for discussion by any means, but it would be a constantly updated thing from TLOPO staff.
 
John, that would be my hope. Going through all the threads hoping for issues pertinent to mine can be time consuming! Also, If an issue was responded to (I do see all the great work you and the staff do there, Cheysa!) three days ago for example, and was fixed, it doesn't give any current info if the same thing occurs again. Did that make any sense?
