Gday I was thinking of this too I just registered a new account and use to play the original when I was a kid and happened to stumble across this fan based made game, really keen to play but my timing is unlucky with the server shut down!

We are currently in the process of deploying the Pypperoni update onto the production servers. We had initially intended to only release the lag fix for the servers, but we had ultimately decided to just move forward with updating the game to Pypperoni tonight.

We will be down for the remainder of the evening tonight, March 21st; into tomorrow, March 22nd.

I'm literally on the same boat (a-thank you-Austin Powers). Played this as a kid, and just downloaded it today. Thanks everyone. Really appreciate the responses and this community! If you're looking for a way to pass the time until the update is done check out my band's music video. It's a comedy and I hope it entertains 
Just think, you missed the last 5 years of beta, theta, biobeta and every other beta you can think of and are starting right in with the brand new programming we've been waiting for all that time.
You'll never know what you've missed!
Just wish it wasn't overshadowed by the present crisis like everything else is. But maybe we need a good distraction.

This is a very rough estimate, but we hope to be back up sometime tomorrow. The reason we are down for so long is because we are deploying our Pypperoni update. If you haven't heard, Pypperoni is our 64-bit overhaul of our behind-the-scenes functions, allowing for crisper graphics, improved frame rates and a much smoother gameplay experience.
It's a pretty intense update, if unforeseen things come up, it could be longer. We'll try and keep you updated.

Double XP has already been extended to the 26th, as posted here. Depending on how long this update takes it's possible we would look at extending it again.
