Pirate Master
This first idea deals with the implementation of a new weapon class. The class would be blunt weapons, which would basically be clubs and fists. During the 1700's, some pirates couldn't afford to have a proper weapon, so they would simply make a wooden club, which would suffice to bash a few skulls in during boarding combat. For the fists, I'm not entirely sure if this is accurate, but perhaps there would be brass knuckles available to beat your opponent into submission with. Or just do it the old fashioned way and give 'em a quick uppercut to the jaw with a fist. Either works.

The second has to do with new islands. The Spanish and French have a good bit of potential to be included in not just SvS, but new story quest missions. Some of this was covered in a different thread, (don't know which one), but I figured I'd suggest it anyways. There could be one or two more French and Spanish islands, and these would have the living version of their respective soldiers, along with slight variations in how the weapons look, and possibly all new weapons entirely.

The third and final one is with the Naval soldiers holding muskets, but not ever firing them. That's something that always bugged me, and never really figured out. I just thought that it would seem more logical that they would fire a shot of lead shot, poison shot, or hex shot (depending on their level) at you, and then engage you with their bayonets.
Tell me what yall think of it in the comments :p

What would a percussion weapon bring to the table in terms of combat? Also, apparently brass knuckles did exist back then, but were used farther east.

The percussion weapons would have different effects. Since they're blunt weapons, it won't cut anyone or give a bleeding effect, but it will do a good bit of damage, and perhaps one of the effects could be similar to the swords, in that it dazes the opponent for a few seconds. The skill for it could be called "Headshot" or something like that. Blunt-force weapons also generally ignore armor, so they could possibly do more damage to the skeletons that have the iron helmets on.

These weapons could also do more damage to skeletons and less damage to living opponents because the dry, fractured bone of the skeletons would break more easily when struck with a club, and would be less useful than swords but still somewhat effective against the living because they are lightly armored, and therefore cutting or piercing weapons would be more damaging.

1. I think that adding new weapons to the game is a nice idea. Blunt weapons are the first that come to mind, too. In order to make them different from the rest, I'd suggest making them do less damage, and slower, but having interesting qualities like a good chance to stun an enemy, ignore armour, or similar stuff that would make sense. Blunt weapons could cover clubs, but I'm not sure what else (I'm not very creative, you'll come up with something I'm sure). Fists could also be in the game, but I think it strays too far from the pirate stereotype. Connecting pugilism to voodoo somehow could save it though, I feel.

2. I think that representing the other colonial nations more would be nice. New lands, enemies and weapons in general is great, and I'd like to see them make content like this and release it in an expansion format.

3. You could (just maybe) count this as a bug, that I hope they fix, to make the game slightly more immersive. It could also be like this on purpose, and it might have to do with people shooting each other, like with the Pirate's Code thing. I personally find this silly, but as a European I'm not educated so much on the gun culture in the US, or the US culture in general that the POTCO/TLOPO rules are based off of.

Overall, I like your ideas.

This was a Disney game aimed at children, so having the players shoot people was out of the question. That would be a bad example for kids! You can, however, cut them, stab them, bomb them, curse them to death, and gamble away their money.

America is weird.

Completely agreed. As an outsider I find holes in how the US generally handles 'kid friendly' content. I personally find that stabbing someone is more-

Better leave it there.

Watching PirateJasonS's gif makes me reconsider a faster and more effective method of getting the job done, like C-4 :)
