After newest upgrade- bad lag everywhere

Didn't bother with in game reports today, bad lag no matter where or what ocean I was on. Last on Frag with only 11 players and couldn't hardly move. Sailing was also a power point presentation. The invasion on tort was far worse than normal. Tried logging in and out quite a few times and never changed anything with the lag.

Perhaps in a few days things will work out, I also did not try clearing my cache, I'll try that tonight some time

Two words: New computer.

May I suggest one that this game dont play on just for you ;) :P lol

Graphical lag would not have came from this update as the update only added new oceans for Welcome Servers, so the only lag you may see is network-based/latency based, not Frame Rate based.

I haven't experienced that since the latest update. I have had times when LAG was bad everywhere. Resetting my router fixed it. I would try that before buying anything.

Thanks T. How do you actually reset your router? It's on topic as far as I'm concerned because it may have something to do with lag.
I'm also going to have some time today to clear my caches. I'll report back if I see any change.
Although I don't think it will be helpful or even conclusive since this game seems to change daily.

I would assume he's referring to power cycling? If so, you essentially just unplug the router and modem for a minute, then just plug it back in after.

**Edit** If he's literally referring to resetting your router, it should have a reset button on it that you can hold, or you need to access your web-based administrator page. I think he's talking about power cycling though, since this process would factory reset your router.

I think so too, but not sure yet what T means himself. However I turn off everything and power off the strip that my modem is plugged into.
So it's a total reset/reboot when I power it up everyday. I believe my modem is also set for dynamic IP, so presumably I get a different ip address or dns ... or whatever.

Also, I recall somewhere things remain in a host file, maybe tlopo is in there with some older settings.
IDK just throwing that out here.

Sorry for not getting back sooner Squintz. Yeah if you power off your modem every day then resetting it again probably won't help. the only thing I can think of is to run a speed test using any tools provided by your isp (internet service provider). I have both spectrum and AT&T and they both offer an app that will do diagnostics of your modem connection.
There is a chance it's a network problem outside your control, so a speed test can help figure that out and although you cant fix it yourself maybe your isp can.

Thanks. I have spectrum too. I'll check this out. I've done speedtests on sites, but I'll try and find that app of which you speak. i didn't know they had their own, but it would be worth it.
Only started 2 months ago with spectrum, and got an into price of 49. for 100Mbps for 12 months. Internet only, supposedly unlimited. One of the few unlimited I could find in my area. They of course want to bump it to 80 next November/Dec. What a crock.
