Alpha testers?

This may be a harsh hypothesis but I think that it kind of brings the worst out of people, as topics such as this act as a reminder that people only care about themselves.

You’re an alpha key owner - you want all alpha key owners to receive the badge. Beta key owners would like the same. Testers would like the same. And unsung heroes who might have assisted in the game’s development (no matter how big or small their assistance was) would also like the same.

This was a prevalent issue with founders during back when POTCO was online. Some acted as elitists (as many will if it becomes reintroduced).

As it is of no true meaning or value and there will be many heated discussions regarding its return, I'd rather not have it.

well yeah beta key owners would want the same, thats why i am saying just to have it for alpha testers as they were way earlier then beta.

Many arguments can be held such as the fact that many non-key users have contributed to the game’s development while some key users have not - so why is one party less worthy of an honorary icon?

I’d rather not have founders badges (or similar concepts) reintroduced to the game. In order to prevent dividing the community and making people upset, I think it would be better to completely get rid of the founder badge concept. The original founders died when POTCO died.

but then..years form now when i say i was in alpha i will have nothing to show for it..then players will laugh at me and call me a lier

well you werent playing in alpha, you were only digging for them in beta. only people with alpha keys could play in alpha.

How does playing a game first correlate to being a founder? The founders badge seems to have lost its meaning.

The original founders assisted in proactively testing the game's original quests and mechanics - some were early players of the game. We already know the final state in which the game was in - so testing the game and sending feedback is only acting in the community's favor (not Disney's favor - since they profited from the game, remember?).

Well the rev ram lost its meaning but i currently still see people trying to get it again?

problem is in game the link would be turned into Arrg and the players would laugh at me even more and say im a lier even more

(also i know this was coming)

and alpha ended about last year if i recall right for TLOPO

How so? It was a core mechanic (might be an overstatement lol) within the game which will surely be fixed in the future.

What I'm referring to is a cosmetic badge which serves no purpose whatsoever (other than showing off, I guess?)
 
I've seen so many of these threads, and I'm going to say the same thing I have for the previous ones:

While there is some truth to the fact that the old key-holders had been more active members, this is NOT true on all accounts. Also, think of all of the people who haven't even heard of TLOPO's existence yet. That doesn't mean they're any worse of fans, so why should people who -- through some chance -- DID happen to find the game get rewarded? Because they shouldn't.

We don't need to create a class system, and who cares if people don't believe you played during Alpha? Why do you need their acknowledgment?
 
Yeah, an entire badge system shouldn't be implemented just because of the fact that it would provide "proof" in the event that you being in Alpha happens to make its way into a conversation...
 
guys just because us alpha players got key does not make us special at the end of the day all alpha players who got a key are normal people i am not special because i got an alpha key the only thing thats counts is everyone who helped not just closed alpha players i am normal person mmdr is a normal person rosefox is a normal person we are all normal people even if we were alpha testers being an alpha tester was reward enough so why do i bring this up to stop people agrueing over this issue @MMDR we all love you and the tlopo team sincely miafff
