Good guys or bad guys?
Please minimal arguing. By the way, one cannot not argue. It goes against human nature. If I were to not argue, something would certainly be wrong with me.

Before too much is said on here, let me "remind" everyone to respect everyone else's opinion and to not use this thread as an excuse to create back-n-forth drama.

DRAMA will not be tolerated on this forums but open-minded discussion actually is (so long as things do not become heated :furious: to where the thread itself will forced to be 'locked').

With that said, I will express later my own opinions about this group.

Sometimes what they do may be bad, sometimes what they may do is good. It's all based on perspective really. But it doesn't matter to them, because what they do is all part of their way of getting what THEY want. It is not protecting anyone, other than who they want to protect. It is not helping anyone, other than who they want to help. They do what they do for the benefits of themselves in every case. If they don't like something that is happening they can change it.

Therefore my opinion is against Anonyomous, and anyone who does things only for the benefit of themselves.

Although there was one case, I believe it was last year around the same time, that they have helped a girl, high school age I believe that was experiencing bullying. Ultimately, these people have put inappropriate pictures and posts online such as on Facebook and other social media networks, and Anonymous apparently took down the images, hacked the FB accounts etc. I'm not so sure on what happened, but I remember this being on the news.

Sure, but this clearly had a motive... They got the positive publicity from the public they wanted. Now they are basically vigilantes and if they are arrested, the public will go ballistic because "they did good things." Everything with annoyomous has a motive. They do as they want.

It was that one girl that commited suicide. And they also aided in the removal of Lizard Squad ( Although, they have returned.. ) I am a supporter of Anonymous. I believe they are trying to help the world, yet trying to get attention. #AnonymousIsBae

Mhmm, I see. That could be true, but is that really their motive and plan? We don't know for sure, but we do know that they have turned into vigilantes, that is a complete FACT. I agree with you their Bart.

As a cyber security person they are what we call grey hat hackers. They're in between being bad and good or black and white, which if mixed is hence grey. I respect Anonymous though for things like their offensive against ISIS, it is in my own opinion doing more than the air strikes in Iraq & Levant. There are other things though I don't like about them-for example the Michael Brown case. It should be noted that they obtained the name of an officer not involved in the alleged murder of Michael Brown but it was still released and even though they did get the right name, it still isn't right they released his name not until he was proven guilty. It's for these reasons I agree with the practically unanimous label cyber security people give them: grey hat hackers.
