What is Ark ?

"As a man or woman stranded naked, freezing and starving on the shores of a mysterious island called ARK, use your skill and cunning to kill or tame & ride the leviathan dinosaurs and other primeval creatures roaming the land. Hunt, harvest resources, craft items, grow crops, research technologies, and build shelters to withstand the elements, while teaming up with or preying upon hundreds of other players to survive, dominate... and escape!" - Ark Wiki

The game's status is currently 'Early Access' launch on steam, but get ready for new updates in the open-world dinosaur survival game, coming soon to Xbox One and PlayStation 4!

I am currently playing Ark with my daughter, her husband, and some close friends. It's a bit like Minecraft in the sense that you start with nothing and everything has to be crafted using resources you find or forage. Your character has to eat and drink and as you level up you are able to select where you put your points and which recipes you want to learn first. Dinosaurs can be tamed and turned into beasts of burden to help you.

You can also host your own server or join existing servers - some are PVP and some are PVE or a combination of each.

Right now you can download early access from steam for $29.99 US.

Like Minecraft, you can choose a server whose host does not allow 'the worst of people'. For example, on the server we are using the owner is limiting the number of users to 40 and anyone caught griefing will be kicked out. However if you like toying with the 'worst of people' then find a PVP server and have at it lol.
 
:facepalm: I don't think you know what I am getting at. But I will avoid going off topic.
I really wanna get this game. And it's definitely worth 30 bucks. Though, I'll probably wait for a sale to get it
 
This is a great game, love it, love the survival aspect and the fact you can live with your dinosaurs right by the ocean 24/7 :D
