Can't even enjoy

King Ben

Dockworker
Due to crashing every 5 minutes, losing all the progress I've made and now I can't even connect to my playtime has made it impossible for me to play. I crash every time I try and board my ship. I lost all the ships I bought and all the gold I've earned. I wait over 24 hours for my playtime and I end up spending all of it just trying to get online and restore what I've already done. Very frustrating!

I understand your frustration, almost impossible to do anything except fish, Everything else causes crashes, cant board ships, enter buildings or teleport without a crash. But its a work in progress give it time.

This has been the problem for the last 2 hours

Yes, several people including myself have already reported this but it is almost 4AM EST so the devs are likely asleep, or preparing for their real jobs as POTCO is likely is their hobby.

Some game servers are down at the moment, but others are accepting connections. Since you are randomly assigned a game server upon launching the game, this unfortunately means connecting to a server that is up is a matter of logging in over and over until you get lucky. As per the above, the timing of the issue may mean it is a little while before it is addressed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

For future reference, please see this thread for server status details: https://piratesforums.co/threads/game-web-server-notifications.13245/

Strange. Even though the servers are up they are not accepting connections?

No, some are down, some are up. You are randomly connected to a server, so if you are lucky you'll be connected to one that is online. Unfortunately, many appear to be down causing several connection errors.

Um, aren't we not supposed to enjoy the beta really? The point of a beta is to test out the game and submit bugs, correct?

I had a similar experience last night probably relogged 50 times and lost more than half of the play time led me to dig around on the forums. Found an article about turning the fancy loading, weather and music off as a work around and only got bounced off twice today. Worth a try.

I haven't had an issue with losing any progress. I do crash quite a bit, but it hasn't affected my inventory or progress.

no one asked you
Doesn't matter. You need to start understanding the magnitude of the fact that beta came out a week and half ago, with major progress already underway. Beta is to help get the game back and running and help correct any issues and such. Do not think the world and the game is revolved around you or your problems. Others are having the same issue as you are. Just be PATIENT. Thanks.

After reading this entertaining thread, I must offer up my classic advice logic;
If you're doing something for entertainment and not having fun, then stop doing it.
Hopefully as time has passed since the original mishap, the problem has been resolved and new problems encountered along the way.
That's life in beta mode. The good news is that each individual's mishaps in the game help the devs correct the issues and make the game more playable.
While this is certainly frustrating, one must always remember the purpose of beta and remain civil and polite at all times.
It is just a game after all and worse things have happened.
Good Luck & Have Fun!
