Caribbean Pirates Online

@Myst Hexbones - Some time ago, I heard that "Caribbean Pirates Online" has ended it's interest towards further development. If you wouldn't mind, could you officially respond to this post and share with us here on whether this is true or not?

What progress have you made so far? Every other project I can find is now dead.

An excellent question, actually. Tell us, good sir Project-head, how goes the progress of the game? Have complications arisen, do you need people to work on specific aspects right now?

Level: getting the job done.

Python: Advanced skills
HTML, js: Medium to advanced
c++: beginner to medium
sql: medium
haskell: medium (learning because it is strong static typed and not OO)
Java: bit more than beginner (gave up, python rules)
PHP, perl: beginner (gave up, python rules)
ASM: I suck

Panda3D is a closed environment used by python and c/c++. It uses its own python version. The modeling of textures, the storage, the filesystem of phase files, is very confusing. .BAM files are compiled to be optimized by the way panda3d reads data. .EGG files are impossible to manipulate when dealing with large areas because there syntax is unique again only to panda3d. I like an open environment. So making a new game engine gives me complete control on how i do everything. I control the way i move models. I control the textures, I control the filesystem, I control the way I load data,I control the order, I control every aspect of the game.
