Chat is a bit strict

Hello mates!

I was recently playing TLOPO, and unfortunately I got a warning, for a not-so-inappropriate word. The word "babes" is somehow considered vulgar, which is a bit too much, don't you think?

The exact context from which the word was used, "What's going on babes?"

I would like to think that most of us, if not all of us, understand this is a bit much. Especially if this is now a mark on my account forever, for simply using the word "babes". If this innocent word is blacklisted, then I am curious what other words, which might not exhibit vulgar themes, is else banned?

I do not think this is suspension worthy, and I hope that everyone agrees. If suspension even occurs, it should not be for something so incredibly silly.

Thank you for looking into this!

I also said "Lez Go" not thinking about it and saying as in "let's go" and i also got a warning. I understand why I got a warning there, but unfortunate because i didnt mean it in that way :/

Why would you get a warning?

edit : Googled it - nevermind.

I feel that may be a problem with that chat restrictions/filter. It does not account for the context in which the word is used, rather only whatever word is said, unfortunately there isn't much of a way around this issue, unless staff checked every report on the spot, manually...
I concur with this, nothing was wrong with the context in which that word was used.

I think wth and wth should be removed as well because that could mean what the freak, wednesday, thursday, friday, or anything and there's plently other words that are blocked and need to be removed as well

exactly what happened with my word. I see that it is bad now, but the way i used it wasnt :P

It is better to begin strict and loosen things as the game progresses than to start loose and have to take away vocabulary because of the way people use it. There are already some issues with what is currently allowed. If you get a warning or ban and you feel it was in error, please use the appeals process located on the forums (click here). We want language on the game to be kid friendly but not so restrictive that you can't communicate effectively. It's going to take a lot of feedback from you guys in order to manage that equilibrium and I have no doubt it will be a continually changing process.

Thanks Kat, yes, it's why we wanted to bring light to this situation. I was surprised to see a word like "loser" allowed in chat, but not "babes".
I also don't want to see anyone getting a warning for using a friendly word.
I'm thankful to Mike W who added Babes to the good list! It's a fun word ;)
