So after randomly finding a Beta key (and then promptly flying out of my chair) I can start playing and testing freely now. The next morning I walk through the Port Royal grave yard and as I’m passing by I knock over a few of the grave diggers cause why not. Well one dropped a loot bag so I go and loot it expecting 5 gold maaaybe…. nope, Beta Key, not 6 hours after finding my first one. Now I got a Beta Key burning a hole in my pocket and it needs someone to give it a good home.

Picking Winner
I’ll put everyone who wants to enter the contest into a random name picker 48 hours after the posting of this thread and I’ll PM the winner their code and announce it in the thread if they accept. The winner will have 1 week to respond, if they do not respond or otherwise decline the key I’ll roll again and find a new winner. I’ll edit this post below to name the winner once they accept.

If you win
When I PM you that you won please send me a screenshot of your account (strike out your name or any other details if you like) as I want proof that you do not indeed have a key already.

FYI the text describing How to Enter, Picking Winner, If you Win and Rules aren't showing up for me. Only way I could see them is by right clicking and highlighting the text. I only did that to see what the yellow text read and found more text which I had no idea was there.

Just realized that the color of the text was making it difficult for people on the standard theme to see anything I've change it so people using either theme can see it more easily. The picture is what I was seeing.

id like to win and play again as ive on and off been searching for potco again hoping a petition would arise to bring it back but this seems the next best thing

For everyone else I have a little tip based on my observations with winning both of my keys. I earned them both via looting and at both times it was on the hour. Whether or not this is purely a fluke or not I don't know. I gave up on digging for keys because its very competitive and extremely boring. Just go out and enjoy your time slot and play the game, you'll have more fun, trust me. Of course if you happen to walk by a digging spot then sure, dig but don't go out of your way to waste your slot for a key.

FYI: There is a key open for each server and they are available every 2 hours, can be obtained via digging or looting on land, you cannot get a key from sailing.

If I may recommend, some kind of quiz type of contest would be fun.

I've thought about different formats, like scrambling the code or a scavenger hunt. But I'll cross that bridge should I find another. But I like the hunt now that I think of it.
