I think it would be cool if we could add painting to the hull of our ships. Namely, I want a bright pink Copperhead.

Wouldn't you need an upgrade to have a pink hull? After all the color of your hull is tie to the upgrade you choose.

I think he means like sails which you are right to point out would circumvent the upgrade color. I think this is ok. You would still get a default gold copperhead when you get one but the hull color upgrade would take precedence if you have it. So, then your copperhead could be pink.
