Isla de los abandonados
A pirate often gains his or her infamy from the crew they gather. However, treachery, as we all know, is a common trait among pirates. The island is home to those forsaken souls, betrayed by their crew, forced to wander alone. Some of these forsaken spirits have the desire for revenge, and will reward pirates in turn for their assistance; that is, if ye've got what it takes.

Dead Man's Rock

Backstory:
Dead Man's Rock, originally called Isla Fértil (Fertile Island), was once a thriving island. The soil was rich, and the life flourished. 5,000 men and women lived here and farmed the land. In the center of the island there was a thick jungle. The first settlers found ruins of a previous civilization, so a legend of great riches somewhere on the island naturally came up. A crew of men who had landed at that island, led by Sebastián Martinez, decided to head into the jungle in search of these riches. After many miles of walking, the crew began to lose hope and decided to take a drink from a freshwater spring at the mouth of a waterfall nearby. Martinez noticed something behind the waterfall, and he found steps down into the underground of the jungle. With the crew's hopes renewed, they pushed on into the cave. At the base is what they thought to be an ancient burial ground. Deceased priests of a previous civilization seemed to be buried there. However, the crew paid no attention to these corpses, and instead took attention to the great amount of golden treasures scattered around the edges of the room. When one crew member took hold of a golden item, a mysterious voice echoed through the tomb, warning of great curse at the removal of these treasures. Martinez thought it wise to leave, but the crew ignored him and began to collect the treasures. Once the tomb was fully plundered, they left the tomb and headed back to the town of the settlers. Halfway along the way back, Martinez noticed that two crew members were missing. This worried the crew and they quickened their pace. They could now see the town, but they could also see two figures approaching them from behind. Martinez, thinking they were the two missing crew members, went to greet them, but as he got closer he noticed that their eyes were replaced by burning purple flames, and all life behind them wrinkled up and died. Martinez, frozen from fear, could not escape his fate. They let out an ominous screech, and Martinez vaporized into a red mist. The crew ran as fast as they could, but they were no match for the two monsters. The two beings slowly killed the crew until no one was left and no life lived behind them. Their gaze turned to the town, and with a screech that could be heard from a ship sailing by, a great storm cloud formed above the island, and it tore the island to pieces. No man, animal, or plant was left alive. It is said that the two monsters still roam the island, letting no creature touch the island and live.

Questline:
You and your crew have heard of the great tale of Dead Man's Rock. You and your crew also know that none of the treasure had ever left the island. The great storm scattered the treasure, so it will be no easy feat getting it all. You decide to land on the island and explore it, willing to fight the two great monsters of Dead Man's Rock. However, legend has it that the crew of Sebastián Martinez woke more than just two monsters, but every deceased priest on the island. This quest will surely reap great riches on its success, but if you fail, well, dead men tell no tales!

Isla de Samurai
Long ago, the Samurai were a fierce class of warriors in feudal Japan. But since then, they have vanished off the face of the Earth. Recently, a lost island has been discovered where strange things have been happening. Pirate members of various crews have been disappearing or falling ill to a mysterious virus. Sightings of ghosts wearing the armor of the ancient Samurai has been recorded on the island. However, the leader of these apparitions has been seen to not be wearing any armor. According to a letter left behind by one of the missing pirates, the leader happens to be Oda Nobunaga. Rumors say that his armor has been scattered and buried around the island the day he died, and now his ghost is searching for the pieces to restore his strength and start a conquest of the Seven Seas. Can any pirate out there find the pieces of the armor first and stop Oda Nobunaga and his band of ancient Samurai warriors?

Here is an image that I thought would be an accurate representation of what the island would look like. All credit goes to the creator and here is the original link to the photo. http://oo0d3v1l0oo.deviantart.com/art/Lost-Island-267713320

So there's these polar bears... (Just kidding)

Isla de Plantas Asesinas (translates to Island of Murderous Plants):

This island has been isolated for centuries, with no human so much as stepping foot in the sand since it rose from the ocean floor. When that was, nobody can tell. This place was first discovered by a British vessel, and the captain insisted upon half of the crew coming with him onto the shore... They didn't even make it to the treeline. Well, not on their feet, that is. What they thought was driftwood knocked them off their feet, and vines quickly wrapped around their legs, violently pulling them into the jungle. One crew member acted quickly, pulling his sword from it's scabbard and slicing through the vine. What could only be described as the shriek of a banshee came from what seemed like the island itself, freezing the man with terror, as well as the men still aboard the ship. Vines wrapped around his knees, stomach, and head and violently slammed him into the sand. And then further. The crew remaining aboard the ship wished to stay one more night, to see if their comraddes would return. They rowed a small boat to the shore, not daring to touch the sand. They waited all day for any sign, to no avail. Finally, that night, they heard cries in the jungle. They pleaded with their crew mates to save them, for they were wrapped within grass, vines, and the dirt or wood they were up against, they were slowly sinking into. Needless to say, the crew of the ship that weren't trapped on the island sailed away. The men spread their tale to all they could, with horror in their voice. Some brave fools have attempted to brave this place's deadly vegetation, but no one has ever returned to tell what they found.

If this were to have a quest-line pertaining to it, it'd be very high level and one of the popular NPC's would have traveled here and gotten trapped, leading you to save them.
----------------------------------------------------
The whole island is diseased with treacherous plants, you must work to cleanse it. Work your way through the jungle, towards your comrade's cries. If you must, bring a torch and light the jungle ablaze, though that may anger the flora more. When you do finally make it to your friend's aid, they are near death and you must revive them. Find fresh water, for you do not wish to partake of any fruit on this forbidden rock. When revived, flee to your ship and sail away to live another day.

(Little over, sorry about that.)

The name of my island is Hazel Atoll.

Like other atolls, this place is shaped like a ring with water (a lagoon) in the middle. This island his a thin but dense jungle-like treeline that hides the contents of the island. On the inside, this Atoll has a large beach area where several ruined shacks lie. The rest of the interior is the lagoon, which is shallow enough to walk through. In the centre lies a tiny island, where a single huge hazel tree lies, hence the name.

Nobody knows how the hazel tree got there, but rumours say it was planted by a small group of European settlers who made the atoll their home, long before the golden age of piracy. These settlers were scared off of the atoll years later by pirates who saw the treeline as a perfect place to hide their massive stacks of contraband behind. The pirates who ran this atoll after many years became so successful, that a small settlement grew around their hideout, as buyers and sellers would come from around the Caribbean. The Atoll became the terminus for a huge stolen goods trade network. The islands' new found popularity would be it's undoing though, as the Spanish Navy quite quickly found out about it and sent a small fleet in under the cover of night, who ambushed the pirates and burned the place to the ground. However, the Spaniards never recovered the most valuable cache of goods, which to this day has never been found. Rumour has it that the cache contains all sorts of exotic oddities, like spices from Ceylon and a gallon of Florentine wine (and of course, LOTS of gold). After the Spaniards left, nobody returned, and for years now the Atoll has remained quiet, and empty.

I'm no good with drawing, so I've found a satellite image of an atoll that (kinda) looks like the one I was trying to describe:

Isla de Mano
They all said it was just a tall tale. But it turns out, the legend was real. The island was said to be created by Poseidon himself as a symbol of his existence. Many people have been shipwrecked on the island and have turned up dead. They say that on a day with high tides, Poseidon and his minions come out to take out his wrath on any who dare set foot on the island. His minions are very dangerous creatures who take form of underwater wildlife and manipulate water to their own command. He is also said to have a treasure buried under the island and if you can find it it will contain the water gods very own trident (along with a very merry amount of gold) and you will have to use it to stand any chance at defeating Poseidon and bringing peace to the island. Your quest is to find this island and keep track of any strange or mystical occurences that happen on the island and find anything that would have any correspondence to Poseidon's appearances during high tides. You will also need to find the mythical Trident of Poseidon as a weapon to fight the water god himself. Make sure you bring along a crew to help in case it gets too rough with the water god or any of his minions. Will you find the source of the strange occurences on these islands? Or will you fall victim to the wrath of Poseidon?

(If the island were real, it would not have any buildings on it and would have a darker setting) (Also this island is based of the anime one-piece and all credit goes to them and the wiki page in which I found the picture)

Here is my take, unfortunately the story + questing interpretation are together over 400 words and I can't bring myself to shorten it.

Las minas marchitadas
Losing was a subject the Spaniards never took easily. When losing all they could ever think about was the desire to be winning and while winning, all that crossed their minds was the dread of falling behind. So when the Dutch snatched their treasure fleet out from under their noses, the only thing many a Spaniard thought they saw was the back of a Dutchman.

Fear brought on a desire for security, which, like all things in the Spanish world, could only be bought with coin. Desperate to make up for the lost funds of the fleet, they ordered their captains to acquire whatever goods they could, by any means necessary.

On an island little known except to those who already lived there, there lived a tribe of natives weak of body but strong in voodoo. In a thousand years they could not have guessed the pretty veins of silver which streaked the jungle would be their undoing. They were close to their gods, but their gods could not save them from the greed of the Spaniards.

Their graves were quickly dug and their villages brought down to make room for more digging, this time to seek out the riches of the earth.

Though their gods could restore the lives of the natives, they could punish those who had brought them down. Being accustomed to fear, the Spaniards ran as soon as the dead began bursting from the ground. But they could not hide the anger of the gods.

The undead natives, calling a favor upon Calypso, had the Spaniard’s ship whisked away into the sea before their very eyes, crewless save for a frightened cabin boy. Unable to leave the island, and blighted by a cure from the gods, they could suffer a thousand deaths at the hands of the undead who stalked them at night and yet every morning they would live again, only to be devoured once again come nightfall.

It is with glee that the mischievous calypso began using the ship of the Spaniard’s, cursed with eternal life, to ferry the souls of the dead to their final resting place. Letting the cabin boy free, she issued him a warning to give his countrymen: just as in life they fear the real Dutch, so too, in death should they fear the newly christened Flying Dutchman.

The questing here would be radiant and without much of a resolution to the problems. This island is morally neutral in that if you lift the curse of undeath on the Spaniards you are freeing them from a punishment they deserve, and if you lift the curse of undeath on the natives you are also helping free the Spanish, which keep you from rightfully choosing either. It would serve as a high level grinding location essentially, an oddity of the Caribbean that you as a simple pirate have no power to control.

~Not part of my island~ Seriously some of the ideas already posted are really good, I would really like to see some of these! So unfortunate they won't be added...

"Ah, isla del rey del cráneo the home of the most fearsome pirate himself Ragnar de Leon, he has claimed an island in the east as his own after the downfall of the chinese ming fleet, after his arrival he moved into the islands underground cave system creating a civilization of smugglers and black market traders, he would send fleets out to attack pirates who came near the island, but another thing he did was dwindle in the dark arts of voodoo, creating plants that would defend his oslamd, living man eating plants, the plant life around the island has caused harm to many pirates and chinese fleets, the island is filled with dangerous plants and dangerous men working for Ragnar so you going savvy go to that island and take care of this problem once and for all"
