Custom ships (ish)

This is something completely off the top of my head so keep that in mind. Perhaps this has been suggested before but I'm gonna roll with it. Since there have been recent events to collect moonstones to buy weapons / clothes, perhaps sometime in the future it could be possible to do something like that but with ships? So if you collect a type of item or multiple and put it towards a unique ship say. Personally I'd much rather weapons than ships but there could be a large number of players who'd think differently. By no means have I properly thought about this, it's genuinely off the top if my head but thought I'd still share

Maybe you'd get items like "Sail," "Cannon" and "Main Mast" in loot containers. These items would have about the same rarities of moonstones or maybe even brights. With a certain number of sails, masts, etc. you could create a custom ship.

Yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking. It'd be a fairly logical next step. It wouldn't even have to be a full custom ship either, just something one off or a few one off ships people could buy in that event.
