Recruiting Dark Archive

Looked again at Dark Archive and liked everything except the loot rules.
I find them archaic, ludicrous, unattainable and juvenile. Were these rules written back in 2009 while in potco?
To enforce such restrictive rules in a open mmo is ridiculous and I'm amazed that sort of conduct has survived all these years in such a quality guild AND game. This 'claim' mentality is a suffocating collar to an open mmo.
Everything about this guild is quality and inviting, but the loot kills it.
May Archive prosper and grow nonetheless.

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. We have over 450 people who disagree with you ( 481 current members, but some are alts of members).

To answer your question, the looting rules were added on November 27, 2011. From the beginning (which was in 2009), our guild has been lead by our Guild Master Jason Firewalker, but it is the officers who determine the rules of the guild. Our officers meet every other week to discuss issues and, if necessary, tweak our rules. Officers base their votes on the feedback we receive from members, their observations and experiences, and on the changing circumstances provided by the game. Our main goal is to keep the peace in the guild, provide a family friendly environment, and help keep our members and their pirates safe. If you are super bored and have nothing better to do, our officer meeting notes are public and can be found here: http://darkarchive.guildlaunch.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=1398689&gid=196449

So far our rules have served our guild well. We have a very active guild and I consider them my digital family. We realize our guild is not for everyone. Those who disagree with our rules typically say so and are never guilded. Sometimes they try it for a period of time but then leave. There's nothing wrong with that :).

To each his own.

If anyone is interested in how our GUILD SVS Tournament is going... check the chart below:

Thank you.

As I had replied to one of your posts earlier in this thread, our looting rules are simply guidelines meant to promote courtesy. I fail to see how asking our members to be courteous is a suffocating collar.

Anyway... Who is ready for our anniversary on Saturday? Several of us are organizing ideas and clues for our "Find Boss" quest. We hope to see everyone here on Saturday to witness our guild's 9th anniversary - almost hitting that decade mark!

As one of the Co-GMs of Dark Archive, I say we cannot stand idly by whilst our Guild Master faces the noose. On Saturday, August 25th, 2018, the day of our NINTH Anniversary, we will band together to face this foe! We will meet at the Devil's Anvil on Bequermo Ocean at 8:00 PM Eastern and develop a plan to rescue our GM! Form crews of no more than 11 fellow pirates and instructions will follow!
We invite all of you who are friends to the Dark Archive to join us in our search!

Our GM's name is Jason Firewalker. You can see him in the picture above. Crew up (maximum of 11 members) and help us follow the clues to find Jason!

The Dark Archive has in their employee a guild who specializes in obtaining secret information. You will know them because the name of their guild is Clue. Crew the specialist from the Clue guild and he/she will deliver the encoded message. It will be up to you and your crew to figure it out!!

I'll see you there!

KFK

PS) Should there be an update (glares at Devs), we will reconvene on Sunday, August 26th same time, same place.

WAY TO GO EVERYONE! Our Guild Master is safely back home! Thanks to all who participated!! This group was clever and savvy enough to figure out the cryptic messages given to us by the secret Clue guild. The Clue guild specializes in undercover operations and "intelligence gathering"

See if you are savvy enough to figure out where the clues were hidden:

Location 1:
Deep in the heart Tortoise isle
Lies a forest hidden and wild
If you seek it you will find
Lala's brother's home confined.
There you will find the one you seek
Go inside and take a peek.

Location 2:
Royal threads can be prepared
In this shop the clue is bared
Nate will witness this convening
While you contemplate its meaning

Location 3:
From one stitcher to another
Black birds flock as you uncover
your next clue to find our brother
hidden deep in Caribbean cover

and the final spot where they found our GM:
This the last of clues you'll get
Hurry now to stop this threat
You must face incarceration
Whilst you play near Billy's station

If you want to know the answers, you can PM me :)

Hey guys! This guild looks so much fun! I just now joined TLOPO, and I remember being a part of this guild for a bit in POTCO. I'd love to rejoin you guys! I'm currently questing in Bequermo, if somebody would message me on here or reply to this thread that's online and can invite me, that'd be awesome!

I'll hop on and let an Officer know for you!

Hey man! If no one sees your response within a few minutes, feel free to PM KFK, JFR, myself, or any other DA Officer you might know! I have heard you are in the guild now, so I suppose we are all good :p

Some highlights from our latest officer meeting tonight:

Officer meetings will now occur on the fourth Sunday of each month. Petty Officer training periods will also be changed to be a month long to fit this change.

Guild events will now rotate between 4 different activities on Thursday evenings: SVS, boss raids, PVP, and material runs. This is done to alleviate time contention due to Officer meetings being on Sundays and to also provide more of a variety in guild events.

A complete calendar of guild events can be found here: http://darkarchive.guildlaunch.com/sections/calendar/

A detailed run-through of our meeting minutes can be found here: http://darkarchive.guildlaunch.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11997751
