Question Do Sailing Items Function?

Do this items enhance your game, or has that feature not been implemented yet. Usually, when you go to your skills page, a weapon/item with a skill boost would usually show the number of skills points in orange depending on how many skill points that item adds. With sailing items however, such as Sea Charts and Cannon Rams, fail to show that, and they don't give any effect, such as my cannon ram, 'Gunner's Cannon Ram'. It is said to give Round Shot Boost +1, but it even if you have it equipped, it doesn't have any effect.

There is no effect with the sailing items, I have even tried with sea charts and other rams, it would be really helpful if you can fix this! Thanks!

I did mention this awhile ago on another forum post, but I really hope that the cannon rams like the Priming Ram I've gotten would become of use soon. That Ram could make my Copperhead Far Frigate even more powerful.
Oh, and that Explorer's Sea Chart in my inventory too.
