Does Tlopo struggle with DDR4?

Do you have ddr4 and have this problem?

i have a desktop. The desktop has seen many upgrades in the past. I will post 2 configs of my desktop. One ran tlopo and one didn't.

1. fx 8350 clocked at 4.6
2 r9 380s in crossfire stock speeds
Msi gaming 970 mobo
32 gb ddr3 ram

2. I7 6700k clocked at 4.4
1 gtx 980 ti at stock speeds
Gigabyte z170x ultra ud3 mobo
32 gb ddr4 ram

I'm not going to let you guys guess which one ran it and which didn't haha. The first configuration ran it fine, the second I have issues. (All drivers are updated etc)
Whenever I launch the game it launches fine, but I never can get to the island. It always says "an error has caused the program to stop working" and in the code it says "out of memory allocating """"""" bytes" (can't remember the exact amount".
My computer utilizes at most 8 gigs out of 32 when running tlopo. Making priority high or realtime does nothing. Disabling softwares does nothing. (I disabled almost everything when trying to run the game). I play other games and don't have any issues.
Has anyone found a fix to this?
I personally believe there is a huge memory leak with ddr4. But I need help confirming and fixing.
(I have a laptop that I use to play the game fine. All the files are the same from the laptop to the desktop. )

****im trying to get to a point where I'm streaming tlopo regularly but it's impossible with the crashing***

I7 6700k OC to 4.4 GHz
GTX 1070
16GB RAM Ripjaws G.Skill DDR4 2400MHz
No problems, runs perfectly.

Yeah I think this is a very rare issue. I saw someone else on the forums have the same exact setup as me with just about the same hardware have the same issue with the same amount of bytes when crashing. Idk if this is a coincidence or not, and I can't find that thread.

I do know that newer hardware does not jive well with the game - specifically Panda3D with newer GPUs. It likely is not a case of which memory standard you're using - it's probably that 980 ti. My main gaming PC struggles with constant crashing and I cannot even go into caves or dock at islands without the game window just vaporizing without warning.

My core specs are as follows:
i5-4690k OC'd to 4.4GHz
GTX 1070
16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600
Windows 10 Home

I have to use my work laptop which is a Lenovo X1 Carbon with an i5-4300U, 4GB of RAM, and running Windows 10 Enterprise. Stability is remarkably better - I can go anywhere I want in game without crashing, but I still fall victim to memory leaks as time goes on in-game.

I noticed that @James Couch and @Cheese have a 1080 and a 1070 (respectively) but seem to not have the issues I have with my main PC. This issue is perplexing and frankly quite irritating as you'd think this newer hardware would tackle this game without issue - but it's likely something engine-wise that's causing these issues.

You appear to be on to something! That's odd that the 980 ti would struggle with the game

I'm bring back to life an older computer build; a speck of dust that can hardly meet today's requirements for anything else than archiving and surfing the Internet.

Starting off with a fresh copy of Windows 7 - will be posting results in a few days or a week at max.

Intel Pentium E5200 @ 2.50GHz
Kingston DDR2-800 4GB Memory
nVIDIA GeForce 210 GDDR3 - 1GBVRAM
Western Digital 320GB HDD 7200RPM
