Dolphin Tale is based on the true story of Winter the dolphin, a dolphin who loses her tail and has to learn to live and swim with a prosthetic tail. The movie is about Winter and her journey, and her relationship with a boy named Sawyer, who's going through his own struggles. I saw this movie around when it first came out, in 2011, and really enjoyed it. I also had the pleasure of going to Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida, where Winter lives, and seeing her

Dolphin Tale 2 just came out in September of 2014. It's also based on a true story. In the movie, it is several years after Winter has been rescued. Winter's much older dolphin friend has just passed away and she must have another female dolphin put in with her within 30 days or she'll have to be transferred from the aquarium. The movie centers around the people at the aquarium trying to find a new dolphin to be paired with Winter.
