Download stopped to missing item

Almost completed the download of updates and got message that cant start due to missing "d3dx9_42.dll"
from my computer. New computer windows 7.

Run the game with opengl.

Or if you wish to run with dx9, download the latest runtime drivers.

I am sorry do not understand. Not that computer savy. I played the game before this update no problem. I am an old guy of 73.

Theoretically yes, but you mentioned your pc is new so it may not have the basic directx files, which is causing error.

Make sure openGL is ticked, then click continue and run the game

You need to install the DirectX runtime to fix the error.

Ok, just install directX, regardless of whether you're running with opengl or not.

Thanks for help Devine. What you suggested did not help after several tries. So I uninstalled the game and going to reinstall it.

If you installed directx, you should try restarting pc.
