I didn't shut it down because of the hate, it was just wrong from the beginning, with being DDoSed everyday to getting called a scam to rumors, and then people started to withdraw their donations which in return lead to bankruptcy.

We didn't even mention the money part much. How do you explain all your excuses and lack of progress? Why you never wanted to show any updates - if any apparently - since you ''poured your heart into the game''? Why couldn't you just admit you got everything off tutorials and copyrighted logos from the beginning instead of trying to do something original? Why did you keep ignoring people and not answering them or just skipping their questions? Why you never signed the contract since if you were 'clear' you would have no problem with it?And heck why did you even promote Miranda whatever her name is since she has NO skills at all other than roughly sketching? How exactly were you going to ''Build'' a game like that?

Oh and don't say that ''I was keeping it for a surprise'' excuse, it won't work. Cut it.

I never told JDP to make it.

I never spent a penny on myself. I poured my heart out into the POTHS community and I get hate in return. Thanks for believing the fake rumors.

I've uploaded two files, one of the Paypal, and one of the Newegg for the PC, I supposedly bought. Which is bought through Newegg Preferred Account, which allows monthly payments, so if I had bought it with APEZ money, why not pay it off?

https://newegg.mypreferredaccount.com/index.xhtml

Also on the Paypal picture, the only thing that is on there is a $1 charge to Value(Steam), because in order to put the game on Greenlight Concepts, you need to buy at least one game.

There will always be hate and criticism, welcome to the real world if you haven't been greeted to it. I find it hard to believe you couldn't improve the rate of those who wanted to withdraw their donations when you had 2 very valuable assets for Devs and then those before them that could have actually made POTHS a success. If you actually gave true results and at least of half what another remake has given out in updates on the actual game's progress and revealing results then you would not be facing shut down at this time and would be proving people like me to be wrong that your game would inevitably be shut down. You had various chances of hearing out advice from people and those who pledged large portions of money too to fulfill this game's success. You had a guy named Deleted member 4172 who was willing to give you pointers and cash, you had Irene and I willing to give you tips and tricks on how to be a lot better earlier on, you had 2 awesome Devs, you had a whole community that still was loyal to the death. I don't believe you poured your heart like you believe you did, you did it in a personal and not professional form, in a sense you were their friends not someone that will deliver the game. Many of the supposed rumors aren't fake though and denying them will just show how much you truly cared for this project's potential.

And to quickly add on..... You didn't need much money to fulfill the game anyhow! So even if you turned down the early offers with large sums of money possible... you still could have fulfilled with little to no cash but instead you sat and did nothing. You did not hear anyone out. There will always be pressure and obstacles when trying to fulfill your dream and people even said that to you before hand various times.

Oh, and one more to add to that and I would like you to respond to all of them.

Why did you keep banning people who were trying to reveal ALL those things that are being said now?

Shame... that is what Zachery should feel right now.

If I was him I would have felt shame from the first week. Not 9 months after. This just proves how much ''heart he poured into the game''.

Yeah. Why did you ban us? Not only is that denying our RIGHT TO SPEAK, but not letting us reveal what was actually going on. WE TRIED TO HELP YOU.

Zach, don't ignore us, answer our questions. After what you did, it's the least you can do for us. I don't care if you hate being put on the spot, I and the rest of us want to hear answers from you.

One more thing, I wanna hear YOU talking zach, not miranda

@Johnny da Pirate? Is this true?

- Look. A completely different point to bring to the table from this news is the actual "timing" of it all (relative to a few developments affecting the community during this month of May).

What might be helpful for everyone to understand is that the individuals (in real) behind Apez are true (I have taken the time in the past to review this for myself). Both Zach and Todd are real individuals & both do have legitimate connections with one another; Apez CEO "Todd" is actually Zach's own father. Despite this fact, the reasons as to why POTHS experienced much setback concerning in-game development towards POTHS is speculative unless we try to take into account Zach's own wording coming from himself.

For the benefit of this ex-POTCO community (which has 'already' been through so much, btw), let's give the man a chance to explain himself appropriately whenever he does because despite our own concerns &/or convictions, at the end of the day all we have to go off of relative to POTHS is Zach's own words & personal testimony.

*From my own experience in dealing with situations like this, people will often clam up and become defensive if there is not enough chance for them to explain their own side of the story.

Thank Ye ~

To echo what Shamus said a bit, I talked to Zach a while back about being more transparent, which eventually lead to him disclosing his full name to the community as well as some other personally verifiable information to myself.

I do not believe for a second he set out to "scam" anyone.

Are there a lot of unanswered questions? Yeah. Did he handle the situation properly? Nope. Should we all rush to condemn him for making mistakes and disappointing people? I don't think so.

So let's stop with the witch hunt.

I am absolutely fine with people discussing the shutdown, asking questions about what transpired, and asking Zach to answer those questions... but let's all put away the pitchforks.

Around the same time Zach publicized his identity I urged him to put up a written policy on donations, for pretty much this exact reason.

While my sympathies are with those who were passionate about the project and involved with the community around it, I personally think once you donate your money to somebody, for any reason, you shouldn't expect anything back unless there was a written agreement. A lot of donations were made on blind faith alone.

If you took the risk of donating to a project without a written agreement on how that money would be used, especially should the project fail, then the consequences are yours to face.

Would it be a great for the money to be returned? Absolutely, I'd say it'd be the right thing to do... but buyer beware.
