Fastest Way To Get Iron?

I'm looking for the fastest way to get iron. Are there any particular ships that give iron/the most iron?

Sink only hunters to get ship materials chests, and leave warships

Shellfish, lentils, fortified cereals

As pirateman123 said, try to only sink hunters. The only other thing would be to do that on the popular server and look near Padres for a group of ships all sinking hunters and sotl in a crowd, you can get more mats much faster in one of those swarms.
