Suggestion Feedback and Suggestions - News Post Response

I think an amazing chapter could be about working to overtake a fort from the navy, and after you do all the quest (such as sinking their ships and capturing their cargo, burning their cargo, assassinating the a captain or general, etc.) and at the end, you could have a guild system where you could invite crew members to help you with special missions, like: Steal cargo from Fort Charles and deliver it to the buyer(s) on Tortuga, sink x amount warship and deliver the cargo to your base, and for larger guilds, there could be a mission every week where the guild has to kill x amount of navy/undead or sink x amount of ships to get an extra bonus, and every weekly mission complete in streaks both increases difficulty and gold payout. There could also be calmer missions, like repairing ships, buying and selling swords and pistols, and delivering cargo to and from buyers. The easier missions would pay 100-200 coin (per person) per mission, and the harder missions payout 300-800 (per person). The weekly missions could pay about 1 coin per enemies defeated, or 10-100 coins per sunken ship (depending on the ships), divided by all the people in the guild, and the top three killers get bonus gold (1st +100 coin, 2nd +50 coin 3rd +25 coin (and the gold bonus increases if there is a streak)) Of course, these would be mechanics so big that they would have to be implemented way in the future, if at all. This would take a lot of power to run on a server and it would take a very long time to complete. It's just nice to think about.

For the story quests, you should introduce more historical pirates.
There are plenty of interesting characters that you could take from the real golden age of piracy,
like Bartholomew Roberts (the most successful pirate captain),
Stede Bonnet (who didn't even know how to sail),
Edward England,
Henry Avery,
Calico Jack Rackham (and his subordinates Anne Bonny and Mary Read),
Jean Lafitte (fought in the battle of New Orleans),
and William Kidd (famous for his alleged buried treasure).

Now many of these come from different years, but POTC has never really been historically accurate, and the possible stories that can be had with these pirates are too good to be turned down.

I have an idea, it's called the Captain's Quarters. If you own a non-light variant of a ship, you can enter a room called the Captain's Quarters during sailing, this would let you access your Chest (To store gold and other fancy loot), your wardrobe (To store clothing) and your armory (To store weapons). Only the owner of the ship is allowed to access this room (maybe the captain permit others, not sure). Items stored in the chest, wardrobe and armory are automatically transfered to any other ship you happen to own that has a Captain's Quarters.

Of course, this would require some small remodeling of existing ships in the game, but most could fit a Captain's Quarters already, it is already implied by the windows of the back of the ships. It is especially fitting on the Sloop and War Sloop.

Would be a cool solution for an expanded inventory and make your ship feel more alive. Of course, it might feel a bit redundant to launch your ship only to access your cutlass that you stored in it.

Thanks for considering!

1. I would love to see the old islands brought back in some way. Maybe being able to teleport to them (like we used to teleport to the parlor game room in the lookout tab). I miss the cliff jumping that I used to do on old Padres del Fuego.
Anyways.. 2. The Kraken. ("A fearsome beast with tentacles that can suction your face clean off.." Thanks Gibbs for that description..)
3. Guild Houses. I remember awhile back someone reported about seeing house like structures in the POTCO phase files. So that would be really cool.
4. Captain's Quarters on ships. Similar to guild houses but only this could be sort of like a "house" for players. You could choose what decorations you'd like. Maybe a sea chart on a desk or something etc.
5. Captain Jack Sparrow vs Jolly Roger (The Final Battle). That was teased a lot in POTCO with "Jolly will stop invading if he is defeated permanently" etc.
6. The Ending of the Raven's Cove Quest continued
since you get the hand thing so maybe explore that.
7. New Islands. Maybe if possible Jolly Roger's home island. Possibly other Caribbean Islands Aruba, Curacao etc.

I Understand not all these things may be possible and that many people may disprove of these, but I'm just thinking out loud at the moment.
Maybe later I will update this to describe my ideas in more detail.

Here are a few things I think would improve the game:
  • An advanced trading system:
This idea has probably been mentioned a lot but I am going to mention it anyway just in case. Basically, when you are interacting with pirates you have the ability to press a button that allows you to trade. This will open a menu to trade with the desired pirate and you can trade items, gold, weapon, etc.
  • Custom Weapons:
This could be used in several ways. One being custom names. You could go to a certain area and give special names to your sword such as "The Swashbuckling Slicer" or whatever you want.
[*]Or maybe players could buy special skills from shops to add onto their sword allowing players to eventually create a "God Sword". Though it should have limited "enchantments"
  • [Lots of lag?] Houses/Captains Quarters:
Having a house for every pirate in the server may cause lots of lag so this is obviously probably never going to me implemented. But either way, basically pirates can buy a house and decorate to their desired choice. They can even invite friends over! Don't get too tipsy mates you may get the Navy's attention.
And for the Captain's quarters, while you are out of combat during sailing you can enter a room called the captain quarters. The captain has the option to lock it to others or not. This room allows the captain to have a special little room in their boat and maybe have some special features later on?
  • [Lots of lag?] Super Bosses:
    No information available currently.
  • Coming Soon :D
Make sure to come later to see an updated post. Currently, I am filling in the "Read More"
I have also not looked through everyone suggestions so if you see one of yours I swear I did not get it from you, and I'm truly sorry for making you think I stole your idea.

Happy Holidays! :D

These are some ideas I have so far:

1. More inventory space would be nice or maybe some sort of storage to put weapons/clothing in

2. Make more clothing lootable as brights like this vest style for example: Vest.png

3. More group/solo end game content

4. New islands, weapons, enemies, and weapon skills

5. Add new clothing styles, jewelry, and tattoos

6. If increasing level cap isn't going to be an option, maybe add some new quests that unlock skill points which will allow you to spend it on weapons of your choice

P.S. I don't think trading should be added as there wouldn't be a point in playing/looting and actually going after what you want but that's just my opinion. :)

Here are some more ideas:

1. More PvP rewards besides a badge and tattoos

2. Different battlegrounds for PvP, maybe with objectives while also having to kill players of course, points would add up by players killed and objectives completed (this would consist of a team of a certain amount or have an option to do 5 v 5, 10 v 10, etc) I think this should be unlocked at level 50 and offer rewards only usable by maxed level pirates

3. Some type of daily and weekly quests that offer different sorts of rewards that change depending on your level

I think the game is awesome for now and am grateful it's back. I almost feel guilty asking for more things when I have only played it for 7 hours in the last 4 years. I'm glad it's developing at a good pace and hope improvements come as feasible in the future.
Thanks for all the hard work!

It would be cool to increase the level max to 60 instead of 50 or something like that. Also it would be cool to add raidable forts that you could take from the navy and it could generate gold and you could build a defense but the navy and other players could attempt to recapture it. Also, you should add npc avatar bosses and npc ship bosses. And one last idea, add way more pvp options

im sure others have mentioned these before but i shall mention them as well

click a pirate to select them and bring up their panel

/commands for chat box for swifter communication that is present in almost every other major MMO
examples:
/r to reply to most recent private message
/r again to reply to a previous tell conversation in order of recency
/whisper or /tell would not be effective as multiple people could have the same name which is a pain in the butt
/g to select guild chat
/c to select crew chat
/p to select public chat
/redeem to use a redeem code without having to go to panel

tabs for each private message conversation that can be deleted as necessary

Full mini maps for ALL regions.

have game save your current region when you log off so you can relog into that area. will especially save those who seem to crash randomly when loading into a cell

Would really like to see something more done with Cuba... the internal area is so small too. Maybe some Cuba specific items that can only be bought there, would love to see higher level internal area. Perhaps some side quests that Tia gives out, or shopkeepers there give. Cuba only specific trading post where you trade one good for another of similar value. Just some ideas

The Ship is where the home is, and home is where the heart is!

What about a sort of "housing system" for TLOPO?
Here's the idea : Every Ship has a captain's cabin. The Captain's Cabin will act as TLOPO's "Housing" of sorts.
  • The Light Ships, being the smallest, do not have a Captain's Cabin. I'm looking at you, Light Sloop.
  • The Medium Ships is where you get your first Captain's Cabin.
  • The War Ships, as you might guess, has the biggest Captain's Cabin.

  • The Medium Captain's Cabin will be relatively small, having a few chests and wardrobes to store the various things you've collected(Weapons, Clothes), but is relatively shabby in appearance.
  • Once you've upgraded to a War Ship, your Captain's Cabin has gotten significantly bigger, and allows for purchase of various furnitures and decorations, in addition to having more storage for items.

Similar to the idea of my captains cabin. though mine has different main function. https://piratesforums.co/threads/captains-quarters.13671/#post-196875

(Obviously not too sure what kind of coding effort would be required):
- Ability to customize boat sails (Possibly similar to the emblem systems in other games, take pre-defined shapes and arrange them and/or just buy different preset patterns for gold)

Very small detail, but also potentially very very neat. Could serve as a visual for when your entire guild is out in force in a certain area, more player ship-awareness.

you should create a system where if you free random NPC from jail or prison they can join your crew in game, so you don't have to look for actual players all the time to make a new crew everyday
