Question Friend invites and whispering

Are we supposed to be able to click on another player and whisper to them or do a friend invite? I haven't been able to do this so far. The only time I can do this is when I am in a crew or guild. Other players seem to be able to whisper to me and do invites. Just wondering if it's a problem with my account. Thanks for any input.

Gotta use the nearby tab or click on their name in chat for the time being.

Yup, gotta click their name in the chat. Being able to click on players to interact with them caused an insane amount of lag, the TLOPO team is currently working on a way to fix this but until then, they're leaving it out of the game. It's not just you

I actually like the nearby button because it shows you who's around you so you don't have to look around makes it faster in my opinion
