Discussion Glitches From Original POTCO.

Everybody who played the original Pirates Online knows about the exuberant and/or painful glitches that never got patched. I would like to know some of your stories of glitches you found/experienced in POTCO.

Since i'm the OP, I'll be considerate and start.

My friend once showed me a glitch in the Faithful Bride in Tortuga, where if you walk into a corner of the bar counter, and walked at the right angle, you would clip right through the abutment and get behind the counter. If you were to walk into a wall, you would go outside the area and into an endless void with nothing but a floating bottle. (I feel like im responsible for this one getting patched after I showed a large group of people how to do it.)

Another one was just like this, but on a war sloop. you could get to the area where they keep the barrels and stuff. I did something similar on a Frigate in an SVS area, and started to noclip around the sea. I was able to kill other players using my weapons, and sink their ships by killing them. I also sunk some undead ships and earned huge rep. ( I actually feel kinda bad about this one)

One time, I somehow climbed Padres, and stood atop the volcano, and another time I fell through the floor of Kings Head.
Once I found a Ship-of-the-Line stopped in the middle of uncharted waters, and sunk it by myself.

So tell me, what glitches did you find?

Hopefully the more detrimental glitches can be fixed.

I think a couple of the funnier ones should stay, such as the Swift foot glitch, but they should be patched to not work in PvP, because reasons.
I agree. I hope most of the game-breaking and unfair glitches are patched. I once encountered a guy in PVP who kept glitching out of the map and killed me and my teammate.

Honestly, I think all the glitches should be patched. Yes, even that beloved swift foot glitch and the ever-useful Darkheart shortcut. I want TLOPO to be not only as good as POTCO was, but I want it to be even better. And, for, me, part of that is making sure the game looks and feels as professionally (re)made as is possible. So, when people are able to glitch out of the map and fall below the island itself, I think that needs to be fixed. That shouldn't happen in a complete, bug/glitch free game. Nor should our clearly human pirates (although they do seem to possess some superhuman abilities such as floating away on clouds to specific locations or fading into the ground and waking up in jail) be able to jump 50 feet up in the air, especially since that allows them to glitch out of the map which should, again, never happen. Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe fixing these glitches just restricts the game further than it should be restricted. Maybe the game should be more open-world, do-whatever-you-want sort of thing. But I personally would rather have them fixed.

All glitches? I understand your reasoning. But when you say "even better than POTCO", some of those glitches made the game what it was. They were simply amazing, and brought (and improved) awesome elements into the game such as roleplaying. Going behind the bar and such was great for roleplaying. Why would you wish to take those elements of gameplay away from the huge part of the community who genuinely had fun using them?

Truthfully, I wouldnt mind most of them getting patched, besides the bar glitch. Maybe they should just add a quest that opens up a short-cut to the other side of padres.

That would probably be the one I wouldn't mind not having fixed.

This is actually a really good idea... most of the glitches that really changed gameplay made the game seem unfinished. Stuff like phasing through barriers isn't on the same level as invincibility, and some easier access to Darkhart would be great given how popular he is.

Honestly I preferred the old Darkhart shortcut, where you'd jump through a window/windowsill and then run/swim the path to get to him. Maybe I'm just a stickler for the old days, I just like it more than the shortcut taken from the Fort.

There was one through the fort? I only knew the window one!

I liked the glitch where you can get on top of the crates on Tortuga, and get behind the counters in the bars and swift foot glitch hope those can stay once TLOPO is finished but make it so swift foot is patched in PVP I remember the first time I find the glitch where you can go behind the counter It took me so long to figure out how to do it lol

That's how my guild mates and I used to play bartender at guild parties. I had no idea they fixed it.
