Idea Guild Forts

I am an avid player of sailing games and I've seen many different dynamics of ships attacking forts only to row out in small boats to do a ground invasion of the town/fort.

Upon reaching the general's quarters, you're declared victor, the city can be plundered or captured for your faction.

I'm talking about Assassin's Creed: Black Flag. I'm talking about Sid Meier's Pirates!. I'm talking about Age of Pirates: Caribbean Hunt. These are just a few of many games that offer these mechanics to their games.

In a game where there are floating fortresses taking down ships twice their size, something like this could be feasible.
After grinding out your character to level 50, maxing out your War Ships's stats, earning gold and PVPing loses it's dopamine rush pretty quickly.

I'm proposing we create a new reason to stay in after the COVID-19 Quarantine: Guild Fort Invasions.

Imagine your guild coming together in a beach somewhere in the Caribbean. The dark beaches of Raven's Cove. The treacherous sands of Isla de la Tormenta.

The leader has people split into groups. A total of 5 crews (As many desired really), Head out to finally assault Tortuga's coveted trading fort which is owned and manned by the ACE Guild.

Long time rivals of the EVO, ACE has used Tortuga's fort to passively generate income. These forts, one on each major island of the caribbean, are forts located apart from the town. They're used to generate gold, materials, special ammunition for cannons, and/or additional XP for quests completed in island's town.

It was never like this however. ACE had to combat the last guild that had a foothold on the region. Tortuga's economy has been coveted, despite being a hub for the despised rum and debauchery.

Not to mention the constant attacks by the Royal Navy, or the Spanish and French fleets attacking regularly. (Minigames- Each nation provides unique rams/gold/items pertaining to their nation)

It's a mixture of politics, power and economics. All worthy of the lives of fellow guildmates now sailing their way on multiple War Brigs, War Frigates and War Galleons. War Sloops providing that much needed speed and agility they have to offer.

As Tortuga comes to sight, The forts can be seen firing upon aggressive pirates trying to take it down. It's health well above 90% upon a single War Frigate firing upon it. It's not easy taking a fortified position down.

The ACE fleet arrives and promptly engage the fort. The fort's guild EVO had anticipated the assault, for the enemy's guild leader had declared an assault on it just 24 hours prior.

The fleet engages the fort, the fort taking down a War Frigate with it's highly trained and deadly cannoneers. (Think Fort Defense with a mix of NPC Cannons that can be upgraded or manually used by players)

Sections of the fort fall as it's health drops gradually, some of it's cannons perishing in the process.

As the Fort is covered in flames and the rowboats slowly approach the docks, pirates await them eagerly.

A mixture of bullets, sword clashing, magic and more ensues among pirates for the precious loot and power that comes with owning a fort.

It's not the only place seeing some action, areas of the fort where the wall hasn't collapsed is being boarded via ropes, allowing for more areas of action to be disputed and allowing for more strategies to be cooked up during or before the assault. Also better lag for all combatants since all the fighting is not going on in one specific place.

As ACE makes it way into the fort, it's revealed that there are homes and shops (Purchaseable Homes? Or just props) in the fort of all kinds, now desolate as all it's citizens are in hiding (If just props). Recruitable and upgradeable soldiers (NPCs) make their way to the pirates, fighting sword vs sword as it's home guild recovers from the spawn point in the Hospital tents laid outside the General's Quarters.

Some of the fallen pirates from ACE respawn aboard the ship, now having to row back into the fort to catch up with the invasion force.

As every last soldier is slain on the ground they stand, they reach a set of huts with hospital beds just in front of what looks like a majestic building that is no doubt the guild leader's home. It's the General's Quarters (Could be upgraded on the cheap). It's the jewel of the crown.

But this is no time to drool. This is time to take what you can and give nothing back. Some of your members had just plundered some crates and barrels from the defending guild, loot and items that were going to be delivered to the defending guild a couple hours later.

That's when several members of EVO rush forward, repelling ACE as hard as they can. ACE holds their ground amid fierce fighting, only for this story to end here.

It's up to you guys to see this become a reality in the Caribbean. Money and ships is one thing. But power? guild rivalries? that's something else.

I would like to see a whole section on Wiki Pirates detailing the history and politics of the Caribbean.

Pirate infested islands taking control of the waters they reach. The old world attempting to clean out piracy while fighting other nations for the same piece of land.

Guilds willingly giving up a percentage of their profits and flying the Royal Navy flag for a boost in protection and security from that nation.

It's a big update and a big overhaul, I understand this. But the pay off would be crazy as the community steadily grows hooked into what it means to be a pirate of the Caribbean.

I've mentioned an idea like this myself when POTCO was still up - Yeah a guild battle style pvp would be a great idea - I was thinking your guild could buy an island that could then be used for the battle but also be used for your guild to meet on and such. I played Guild Wars back when and they had 4-5 different guild halls you could choose from for your guild that was used in the same fashion. You could buy upgrades for the hall like a armor shop, clothing etc etc with notoriety and gold - so it also becomes a gold sink to keep people working towards a full guild hall/island. I played on potco for a very long time and I watched many a pirate leave after they hit level 55 and maxed out everything. I agree would be nice to see something to help keep older players on.
