Halloween House Light Show

Although that was awesome I would so be that neighbor who breaks out the shotgun and tells them to turn it off cause I'm trying to sleep lol.

O_O! That was interesting ...

1. Some ppl had much extra time on their hands.
2. I'd enjoy it for the first 10 minutes (= 2 shows back to back), and after that I'd find it so annoying! The glares of the neon hurt my eyes ... and yea, I'm with Will. If I were the neighbor, I'd be ready to sue them if they turned that attraction on all night long.
3. I suspected that those cars passing back and forth in front of the house enjoyed the attraction as much as we did.

My house or relatives' houses didn't always welcome Halloween trick-or-treaters but there were 2 'monumental' occasions that I could think of.

First one on my house with the extended family celebrating Halloween night. One of us dressed up as a witch (and this is an ugly looking one - the kind of witch you imagined in your childhood or in the German story Hansel and Gretel and the candy house). The house was completely dark, no outside or inside light was on. The 'witch' was waiting on the dark corner, where the steps to the front door were. And there was a little boy about 6 or 7 years old coming .... he stopped in front of the witch, stunned ... and with shivering voice he asked, "Are ... you ... r-r-real?" The witch did not say anything, just tilted the head sideways. And that was it ... that boy fled with the supersonic speed ... We laughed, rofl until our sides hurt! I knew it was not very nice (poor kid ...), but we didn't expect that kind of reaction either ... :D

The second one, was when were were at my late grandma's house. She had a wheelchair that was placed in the foyer (long hall way when we first came into the house). She usually didn't have too many decorations, and sometimes just gave out candies to trick or treat-ers (she lived in the main street of a small town). But that was (and is) the only street that every kid in town and surrounding areas went trick-or-treating at. One year we decided to put a black sheet covering the front door and every side of the hall way except that foyer. One of us dressed up as Jason from the movie Halloween (it must be aired these days close to Halloween night ...), and the other as a 'bubba' (general translation: an old country man with long-tossled hair and buck teeth) wearing and old raggedy clothes and thick black plastic glasses. We also had a smoke machine going from inside the house blowing toward outside the house. The entire time, the front door was open, but the black sheet/curtain was covering the foyer so that trick-or-treaters could not see what was going on in the foyer. The house was completely dark, no light was on inside or outside. There were literally 20 ppl lining up outside the front porch ... waiting ... smoke coming out from behind the black sheet. And suddenly, the 'bubba' guy showed up from behind the black curtain, pushing a wheel chair with Jason sitting on the wheelchair! The crowd screamed and fled off the house! We had the biggest laugh for a long time ... :lol1:

Now, THOSE WERE HALLOWEEN ...

I know, we were bad ... :p
