:good post: As with everything I am overly concerned about, "timing" itself is a big deal and...as others have already mentioned...in this particular case actions will speak louder than words. (I hope this isn't too harsh for myself to point out).

Hippie, I hope this apology is sincere. If it is, (Which I think it is) welcome back to the community. It takes a man to step up and admit he was wrong, and to put aside his pride and ego and give a public apology.

I simply seek to be able to use my own alias, "Hippie", on the game. For that alone, I will behave.

If TLOPO does decide to permit you the opportunity to play...don't you feel a fresh-start would include for you an entirely NEW identity and name for yourself? After all, below is what you had stated within your original post and to which all "new beginnings" (I'm sure) can legitimately begin. ;)

If you are serious about the ^ above, wouldn't this summer's avoidance of any past drama best be handled on TLOPO with yourself having a different and NEW identity and pirate name differing from the one you're known for? If not, why not in your opinion?

There are several people in this community who's name means something to them, because it carries history and prominence. I consider my name valuable for reasons other than claiming credit for a separate POTCO emulator... I've been part of this community under the name Hippie since the game's opening in 2007. Part of several of the oldest, largest guilds. One of the PvP icons. An officer in several prominent roleplay guilds, and other large ones like INFERNO. Owner of a YouTube channel that was fairly popular for its time. Contact with several thousand people (literally) over this past full decade. About a thousand of them, I'd say, know me by name. To be forced to operate under a new alias as an "agreement" for apologizing seems a bit ironic, right? I could've just done that anyways with a beta key, without saying anything or putting myself out here like this.

I think that's the fact of the matter to anyone wanting Hippie to start anew. He could play the game undercover, with a different IGN that bares no resemblance to him. But the fact that he's willing to open up as his old self AND face his sins means a lot more than cowering behind a new name.
 
Meh. To paraphrase, those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. As my Gram would have said, this seems to be so much of the same cloth. Since my mother taught me to say nothing if I have nothing positive to say, it would seem that I'm done with this post.

Well as a former co-worker @Sparky Wonderwolf I'd hope there was no love lost between you guys. @Hippie I find it hard to believe tlopo will grant you any requests based on the fact you are still very much an active member of another remake and discord... Besides the damage done, the copy and pasting of different aspects of their website (features and content) and numerous other issues... Just not really sure they owe you anything at this point regardless of how genuine this apology is or isn't. Hopefully it is the real deal, but in my years I've learned people don't ever really change, they just swap out their mask for a new one. Hopefully I'm wrong Noah... Happened before and I'm sure it'll happen again. I'm with @Shamus The Brute on this one.

Which as we are casual outsiders @Tom Savageflint seems fitting and a fair assessment as it is a game... But then again none of have been in the cross hairs of their little fun house brigade for the last couple years. I personally think any accord to be had has long since passed... Just an honest opinion

I guess, and I do understand where you're coming from. But I just believe that if we don't give him the opportunity to show his hypothetical new self, we're just a rude community. But I understand where you're coming from.

*EDIT* @Johnny Mak Perhaps we give him a task to prove that he has changed? As I suggested earlier, he is a prominent member of the other project, and he could do a lot to calm down the tensions between our projects from there.

I've relinquished ownership of both the " another remake " discord and the " another remake " youtube channel. I have lost all permissions in-game, rendering me no longer a GM or staff of any sorts. I am not in the " another remake " staff chat, only their public discord, which is not a crime against TLOPO. The owner of the project at hand has personally called this forum post "Treason", and has expressed plenty of anger and regret towards me "capitulating" for TLOPO. Furthermore, I did not make the website nor maintain it in any way. I was simply a community coordinator. I'm not claiming that TLOPO "owes" me anything, just that it would be in good heart to give me a chance to just use my own name. If I mess up, you have the power to terminate me. There's practically nothing to lose, but a new fanatic player to gain.
