Note 1: This is NOT a guide on changing your in-game TLOPO pirate name. That is not currently possible.
Note 2: This is an ability to be used very sparingly. These are long-term name changes, and it is not guaranteed that an Admin will agree to change your name.

A) You misspelled your username! Oh, no!
B) You just got really tired of your username! It happens.
C) You just can't stand the username you've used since you were 12, and you want it to burn! Understandable...
D) You've finally made a pirate in-game, and want your username to reflect that! Sounds good.
E) All of the above! How unfortunate...

Step 1: Learn how to start a private conversation in this thread if you don't know how. It's kind of important.
Step 2: Choose any forum Admin or Head Admin to start a private conversation with. If you don't have one in mind, I'll go ahead and suggest @John Foulroberts .
Step 3: Very politely request a name change from your chosen Admin. It would be helpful for you to send your new username along with the initial message.
Step 4: Wait for a reply, and check for your name change. Please do not pester or annoy the Admin when waiting for a reply, it's terribly rude.
Step 5: If your name has recently been changed, don't forget to log in to the forums using the new one and not the old one! Changing your username may change the login as well.
Step 6: Enjoy your new username!

Please, DO NOT:
1. ...request a name change from multiple Admins at the same time.
2. ...pester or spam an Admin if they have not responded.
3. ...turn into the internet Hulk if your request is denied. (It's not easy being green, anyway.)
4. ...request a name change every time somebody gets angry with you.
5. ...request a name change in order to impersonate or troll someone else.
