How to make a food commonly eaten by pirates (hardtack)

And! Honestly... If weevil infested hardtack was good enough for ancient sailors and explorers... then it's good enough for me! *coughs and gags a little* :)

There is a YouTube channel (Townsends - https://www.youtube.com/user/jastownsendandson) where the presenter talks about and MAKES foods of the 1700s to the 1800s. Granted, some Pirates History predates those time periods. But I can't imagine the food produced by the English & French changes much over that time. They have some great recipes that are easy to prepare & cook (I've tried a few). Currently I am trying to find a local butcher (here in San Diego County, most "dedicated butcher shops" are non-existent) who can provide me with some Beef Liver Fat with which I can make Suet...Townsends & Sons shows how to make it! Then I am going to try to make Pemmican! -)
