How to say goodbye

We are not only losing a game but a community. Even though a small number of us may meet up in other games, many of us will forever lose friends. My plans are to eventually get back on the game for a few hours to say goodbye to friends but have not had the heart to do so yet.

As suggested in another post, my plan is to play on the last night, set sail on my favorite ship and go afk rather than log off. That way my pirate will go down with the ship. I will probably sail to a favorite hunting spot and fold the sails. All are welcome and encouraged to join.

What are you plans as the game comes to an end?

Very good thread indeed... To be honest, I have no idea what Im gonna do though...
When COH was about to shut down, everyone from every Server had migrated to one. 300,000 players in a server raising torches in the memory of the game... Sad to see.. Im guessing I will do the same thing in Potco. Be Abassa at Tortuga with everyone else, waiting... since there isn't a torch move....
Until then, I will take pictures of everything in the game. Even the shops inside. My inventory etc. I would encourage people to do the same, because they will soon regret so, even if its only a couple seconds.

I really hate to even discuss the unfolding of events for that day; however, I guess at some point it is something we each need to discuss and decide upon for ourselves as members of this POTCO community.

One concern I do have is if the majority of us decide to gather in one location or spot (Tortuga, Abassa for example), how well could we really enjoy that moment in time with all of the lag encompassing our space?

*When it comes time, perhaps some of you savvy swashbucklers with the technical insight could list practical ways here on this forums and facebook for players to minimize the lag they experience for such a gathering.

Well, certainly one way is for players to avoid using weapons.

This project will be a massive remembrance video; it will showcase all aspects of the game, full tours of every island and area, and some of the good memories and times the community shared together.
