Ideal Beta Release?

Of course, I totally respect the developer's decision to keep quiet about any sort of internal dates. I can understand that they don't want to promise on something they can't deliver, so I'm not asking when beta is coming out. However, I would like to ask what their ideal downtime would be. Not a promise of delivery, but a way of saying "We want to try to get it out around this time, but if its not out by then, we're still working out a couple last bugs." Are you guys aiming to have it running again in a few weeks, months? An answer of "We don't want to make promises and let you guys down." is fine, I was just looking for a bit more than the ambiguity we've been getting or an answer of "The game will be down indefinitely". Either way, thanks for all the hard work guys, I know you're taking your personal time outside of school and work to bring back this beloved game. Alpha was super fun and I can't wait to see what beta has to offer! :)

We don't want to play something with no content. I don't mind waiting for a long time, as long as we have working and stable content. The wait will be worth it.

I predict the 1st! (Not telling the month lol) :)

Well we played+tested Alpha when there was no content other than walking around on one island (with no caves/dungeons at that!) :P

I really think that if there was someone who knew exactly what was going on that they could give us a "best case scenario" timetable and a "worst case scenario" timetable. I'm not asking for a specific day, week, or even month, but even the most general idea would be great. With how vague people are being, for all I know it could be 2019 before Beta launches. The only thing we really have to go off of is TTR's alpha-beta downtime which would put TLOPO downtime at 1-2 months or around that, but even that was under very different circumstances. Excuse me if I sound a little impatient but this level of vagueness is very confusing.

I understand how you feel, but please know we are not being vague. What I said earlier is 100% accurate. We have a list of things that need to get done before we can launch Beta. We will work to get those things done as soon as possible, but our primary concern is getting them done right. There is absolutely nothing else we can tell you. You know as much as we do.

I've actually been wondering, and I guess this is a good prompt for me to ask: how are the devs going about the server updates? Are they adding content to the existing alpha? Or nuking that and making a second copy of the dev server in its place, and then adjusting what features are there? Some other approach? Or are we not allowed to know this? Just a curiosity I've had for the last day or two. Thanks :)

(Sorry for going somewhat off topic here).

The developers would give us estimate if they knew how much it might take. You need to remember that some of them are not professional developers. Also they had never recreated an MMORPG before and that they have jobs, go to school etc..They are doing this in their free time and have no profit of doing it.That's why we need to be patient and grateful for their work.

It works pretty much just like Alpha did. We test everything on the QA (test) server.

The ideal time for me is however long the devs need. No rush, I can find things to do to pass the time.
But once beta opens....I bet you can guess what I'll be doing for the next month nonstop lol
