I'm so ... 'incredible'! ;P

I know this is very random ... but let's hear it, if you dare! People say that the ability to laugh at ourselves shows how big our hearts are. And it also showes wisdom. Not just point fingers at others, but also to ourselves. :D I'm in need of a good laugh right now, so here it is ...

I thought I was smart ... but not always! :p I already knew that, but when it happened, all I could say was "OMG! How dumb am I ... "

Two nights ago I wanted to eat ice cream. I opened my freezer and took a tub of ice cream and saw that the metal ice cream scooper was there. Well, actually I did leave it there from the last time I had it. I didn't usually leave the ice cream scooper inside the tub, and for some 'odd' reason, I thought it would be easier for next time to just leave the ice cream scooper there. My mind went on vacation, apparently, because it didn't register to me what the consequences would be if I left a metal material in a frozen environment.

So I scooped some ice cream, and seeing that there was some ice cream left on the scooper ... yep, you've guessed it! I brought to my mouth and licked it! If you ever saw cartoons or even funny comic strips, you could imagine what happened afterwards ... That ice cream scooper was stuck on my lip and tongue! And I pulled it frantically. This can't be happening, I thought. It would not come off of my tongue and I had to stop and think for a minute. (If there had been a hidden camera somewhere that took my moment, I could have almost bet you what I'd be winning the America's funniest video!). I knew I was going to get hurt really badly if I continued on. Then I ran to the faucet and grabbed some water and drizzled it on to my mouth. Finally the metal scooper came off. But the damaged has already been done. :sad1: I can't hardly open my mouth right now because it hurts and is swollen ... Well, at least somebody can learn from it: Do not lick frozen metal; your tongue will get stuck and ripped, and it hurts! ;)

So if you have a funny experience and don't mind people laughing at you, please share here. At least somebody can learn NOT to do it! :D TRUE STORY ONLY please!

Do you know stuff like that happens to me all the time, i hate it,...its like i have a brain fart i call it,....and yes i even catch myself in stupid pictures, and cant help but even reply, if you get a chance just look at the pictures in the ship yard, bella reason for leaving a guild,...i mean, even i am not immune to making fun of myself,........why does this happen to me? why my computer pick up on stuff like this? and how can i not reply? Its like i just said, to, wont say his name, kick me in the behind, so my foot falls out of my mouth! :excited:

ok, ok, i owe you this one jade, but only because i want you to know, none of us are perfect, and yes this is a true story, they probably take it out anyway,.....but you know i always say, i dont care how i dress,....but sometimes i do dress up,...went to the casinos with my sister,...had a beautiful lace dress on,..both of us dressed, up,...picture this,..in the elevator filled with people,..and what does September do,..passes gas,..and it was loud,..and my sister says, tell me you didnt just do that,....hey, what can i say,.....ok......even girls fart,.....but not usually around other people,...well not on purpose anyway,.....even i would not do that on purpose,.....:woot:

:lol1: Don't cats not like water anyway? Snow is just frozen water...

It wasn't 'just the water' thing, Hypothermia, I would think .... shivering uncontrolably because the body temperature dropped (in snow). Cats are warm blooded animals (like humans). They could go into a coma and die if the body temperature doesn't go back up to normal.

I got two embarrassing stories. One that will probably only be funny/cringe inducing to my fellow computer savvy mates, and the other everyone can laugh at me for.

A) So. I've always built my own PC's. The last 3 I put together specifically for gaming and graphic art. I have the Antec 900 case, the entire front has built in screens/grates in front of the fans so the air flow through the case is awesome, but it also means mucho dusto. So twice a year I give the case a good cleaning to get the dust out. I pull all the cards, pull out all the fans and clean the blades, re-apply thermal paste between CPU and HS, everything. So I did that and at the time I had the original Asus Crosshair MB
asus-crosshair.jpg

You see it has some copper piping and heatsinks that cool the South and North Bridge. Well, I put everything back in after this major cleaning and when I start it up, I hear this stomach turning sickening noise of popping and then poof! A literally 3"-4" flame shoots out from under the heat sink! (the one to the left of the CPU socket) My heart about stopped and I quickly cut the power. It still pains me to recant this. It was default everything, no over clocking or over voltage on anything. I have another computer techhead buddy come over to look at it with me. I start it again (thinking the bonfire won't happen again) and boom it happens again, we both see the big flame shoot out again from the same spot! I'm pretty sure I shed a tear, because obviously my sweet (and expensive) MB was done for, and the worst part is I didn't know why!!! I don't know what the moral to this story is lol, because, I for the life of me, never really was sure what sparked the flame. No popped capacitors, no static discharge while cleaning, and it darn sure wasn't dust, I have no bloody idea. My buddy thought I coulda got artic silver in the cpu slot or on the MB itself somehow, or a bent pin on the CPU. But we couldn't find any AS5 dripped anywhere, and I don't think we saw any bent pins on the CPU. I'm using the same case so the scorch mark, (yes a scorch mark on the MB tray under where the flame was) is still there as a painful reminder. *sniff*

B)This happened when I was in college. The city was repairing/replacing the concrete around a manhole in the middle of a 1 block long residential street I drive down to get to the highway. It was in a spot where you could easily just drive around it, I came home and there it was. So...the next morning I leave to go to class and it was in the fall, and as I turned onto the street where the manhole repair was my windows fogged up. There wasn't any other cars parked along the side so I just slowly roll down the block trying to wipe it off with my hand and with the air blowing on it.(not really seeing where I'm going and of course not really smart at all...but I slowed to a crawl.) You can guess what happens. I straight up run over the wooden construction barricade (the smaller triangle ones). I of course feel the car run over something, but I was driving a '90 cavalier, a sturdy car. So I didn't feel a whole lot from doing that, so figured it was just a bump in the street (the street wasn't entirely flat), not at all thinking about having seen the barricade the day before. So...I just keep going and go to class. Well when I come out from class, to my surprise, I have a flat tire from a nail in the barricade that I still didn't know I had run over. So my dad comes and helps me with the tire and go back home. When I get home mom tells me that when she left she saw the broken barricade laying in the street and some city guy was coming to retrieve the barricade only to find it laying smashed in the street. It's then I/we realize what happened, and what I had hit, and why I had a flat tire lol. (I lived in a small town) So I do the right thing at that point, and go to the police station to fess up and see if they want me to pay to replace it. (I didn't have to.) So moral of that story: *Don't run over construction barricades and/or don't drive when you can't see through foggy windshield*

Good grief long post, sorry, didn't mean to write an essay lol
