In Light Of Recent Distrust

I don't feel that the major problem with the community vs the devs is that there is a lack of trust. I feel as though an amount of the people that are in charge around here are just rude and disrespectful. I'm not saying that anyone that has authority on the forums or in TLOPO acts this way, but from some of the people that I have seen in my somewhat short time here; there is a general hate among some people. To the Devs, I understand that you all are constantly asked "When will the game be done?" or "Can we play the game yet?". You can't yell at us for being curious about this. We all want to play the game again, and are very eager to start our pirates again. It has been a while since the game was closed, and we just wish it was a shorter wait. The Mods/Admins/Members/etc, the forums are run very well but not very efficiently. If there was a simple suggestion for the forums or TLOPO, there is NO support on that thought! Why does that happen! They are trying to make their's and possibly other people's experiences better. This has actually happened to me. I suggested an idea for TLOPO and the first comment was saying that it was not a good idea, along with 4+ other people agreeing with the person. It took a while for me to see someone that would support my idea. This is not a great way that the community is run. I'm not saying that you guys suck at your jobs, but It seems as though you don't want to take in others ideas for reasons unknown. Another thing that I have seen is that people on the forums (Not just those who rule the forums, but members as well) is that if someone is having an argument with someone else, they MUST make it public to everyone. How childish must you be to do that. Take your problems keep them to yourself, if you need help with them then ask someone who will not forward it to others. If you have a feud with someone, that is your problem, not the entire communities'.
Well, I think the TLOPO developers can only add so much. Adding entire new features, for example, guild PvP, ship cabins, or other things like that are impractical especially at the point where they do not even have most of the origina l game made yet.

Also, the only 'argument' made public was regarding Deleted member 4172 and the reason behind doing so was because he was trying to scam people. Remember, a large percentage of this community is very young. I think the forums staff and TLOPO staff has been trying very hard to keep everyone happy, protect the community, and try to censor this site as little as possible.

As far as what you said about the suggestion: just because you make one, doesn't mean people have to agree with it. It's a forum, a place for people to share their opinions and their feedback. If you ask me, the forum is running pretty smoothly. The only posts I've had to report lately are ones that are miscategorized. That's pretty good for a forum whose member count is just days away from hitting 5,000.

If you're referring to the names suggestion, there were plenty of reasons for people to not really agree with the idea, the biggest ones being complications for the devs and shortages for names over time. Please don't be offended by the lack of approval, it was a creative idea but just had some limitations to making it a reality.

And one final note about suggestions: in many cases, the devs won't respond to them. This is because they are too busy working to bring the game back to its former glory before they worry about adding new content. Don't take that to heart either, they mean well.

Glad you posted your feelings :)

I can recall one other one that happened recently involving members here, however I won't mention names as I don't want to stir the fire...

30,000 monthly followers on our website. This whole thing is ridiculously huge, I would've never expected that many people to be following us. I'm truly thankful for being able to be involved with all of this.

WOW! Well I won't say I told everyone so the last 2 years! lol Amazing, scary not even near launch...

Remember a lot of us weren't kids when we started playing, we're old and bolds. I was in my early 40's when I started playing. I've been around long enough so I've learned how to wait lol So HURRY UP! No... just kidding :D The chaps ARE doing a good job, let's let them get on and do that. They need our support not our criticism.

Polly you are so pretty! :piratemickey: Looking forward to seeing you in game again, I like your positivity!

I bet you're great to have in a team for looting... South Idol here we come!:swashbuckler:

Regarding the above threads I think the main theme in a lot of what is said by various Pirates is underlying stress in their lives, whether it be TLOPO related or family, it never helps with clear communication, we don't always take a deep breath and gather our thoughts before we speak.

I know it happens with me in my home and family sometimes too...
