It worked

I went from a stuttering 26-50 FPS standing still on the Tortuga beach to a constant 40-60 FPS.

However, when I enabled single-core mode I got a trojan notification from Avira Antivirus..must be a false positive?

I'm gonna uninstall just in case, but the devs should consider finding out why FlipTIB's single-core mode affects the FPS positively

Feel free to run it though virustotal and see what it tells you for us!

When standing on the docks at Tortuga facing the ocean I get 50 fps with a dip every 2 seconds to 25 fps. When standing in the town facing the island I get 25 fps with the same dip every 2 seconds to 10 fps. With flipTIB I get exactly the same fps with exactly the same dips in performance (literally within 1 fps). I tried setting the affinity to 1 core manually just to see if there was any difference and got the exact same fps again. The only thing that I found made a difference was setting the priority of tlopo.exe to high, which as expected gave me about a 10% increase in fps.

Whoa, I've noticed a relatively decent difference. Used to be on Port Royal that I'd get 15-20 FPS on medium settings (awful computer, I know). Now, I'm getting 25-35 FPS. Pretty big difference for me.

The only reason it might appear as a virus on some virus scans is because it modifies files and data on your computer.(that's what a virus is)

Would you not get the same functionality by just setting the affinity of the tlopo.exe process to run on a single processor core?
