Back in the old days of potco, there use to be a time where I would literally go around jumping around the house shouting out something in pure joy and bliss. What was is it your wondering? well since its in the thread title you already know... but it was invasions. I could go on about it like a crazed scientist talking about his magnum opus when I think about invasions. The memories I have about them... and to a point still experience today.... waiting at the barricades chatting up some funny stories with folks... someone making a funny speech...goofing around with potions, the fierce fighting for 30 -40 minutes fighting wave after waves of enemies, random keg explosions on a large group of pirates, I in general enjoyed every aspect about them. However in TLOPO... the invasions we have are a bit... short... and well... easy.
The current status of invasions are enjoyable, but there is no longer that thrill, that struggle of battle, that feeling that the verge of defeat can happen any moment, the stacking of bones higher than the barricades. Invasions are just too easy now, waves are relatively short and don't get too interesting till wave 5 bar some random conglomerate of a bunch of keg runners every now and then on a lower wave. Enemies need to do more damage, perhaps add in a few more variety types since enemies don't aggro onto you as well as they did in POTCO, causing grenades to be even more OP in TLOPO, maybe a few undead grenadiers to even the playing field, eh? They need more health as well, with so many pirates attending invasions at abassa/andaba, its kind of odd for so many people attending, three to four mid level players with grenades can annihilate every enemy before they touch the barricade. Some more bones need to be stacked by the end of a invasion, some for our awesome looking ships, some to pick our teeth with after a hearty meal once were done defending the shores, additional waves help keep the pace, the tempo, the difficulty, and possible strategy going. In general, the health, damage, and amount of enemies need to be upped... but there also needs one more enemy to be spoken about.
The man.... well... former man, the one conned out of his life after a disaster, Jolly Roger himself. Jolly Roger himself no longer has that awe inspiring factor, he no longer rampages his way through the city, withering and desolating pirates all around him. He needs a severe damage buff, level 20 pirates should not be able to survive his thunderbolt attack let alone shrug it off like nothing, level 45 pirates should be thankful if they do survive such a devasting attack. I realize Jolly Roger walks on a peg leg, but despite the slow speed, he still should be able to make it a decent way up to his target, instead he's dead shortly after wallowing through the remains of the first barricade, he surely needs a health increase. Bring back the fear, the power, the might of the undead army in TLOPO again.
