Unfortunately, it is no fun rivalry although it should be. It's very hostile. It was much worse earlier but things have cooled down.

Is the rivalry between Retribution and TLOPO a friendly one?

Honestly, it depends on who you ask. It's impossible to get a definite answer for things like this because there are always different points of view. For example, a member of Retribution could see this as a friendly competition and a member of TLOPO can see this as a full-blown rivalry, or vice versa. My opinion is that there are some people who like to view every possible action, statement, or belief as an act of aggression, and there are some people who take the time to think about what said action, statement, or belief could mean and act accordingly. Both of these types of people can be seen on both TLOPO and another remake.

If you do the research on your own and you're blessed with knowing the right people, you understand then basically what happened. But, you have a good point because not 100% is always known pertinent to what has been publicly/privately revealed.
Because of what happened, I stood with the minority in choosing to side towards pay-back/war. Today, I have yet to act upon that desire because a lot of people have convinced me to not do so. Perhaps the best line-of-reasoning in support of that is just what I had explained above. However, it should be clear to everyone now that this rivalry...it's not a rivalry at all. Rather instead, it is one-sided; the TLOPO side - has only tried to defend itself against attacks by the other. The initiator and the instigator is a banned member here whom received the ban prior to any attacks made against TLOPO.
*Everyone has the right to defend itself. Not everyone has the right to blatantly alienate the interests and the well-being of others whom did not even try to provoke. Surely ye pirates can understand, respect, and accept that...

There is no rivalry existent between TLOPO and any other party. We have been harassed in real life and online by a few individuals that used to be members of this community. Otherwise, as far as I know, the lack of rivalry actually makes it impossible to answer your question (which is particularly loaded, by assuming that a rivalry exists).

I really wouldn't go that far. It would be nice to imagine another remake as a few individuals harassing TLOPO but in reality they have a relatively sizable community. It is quite one sided of course, but there is some turmoil.

I mean I wouldn't go as far as to say that there isn't any sort of a conflict between another remake and TLOPO. Rivalry isn't the word I would use, but only because the TLOPO community and its staff do a good job of turning the other cheek.

I suppose "conflict" would assert more meaning in this situation than would "rivalry". However, I would go as far as to say that criminal activity and explicit bullying are more apt descriptions.

I agree, this is more of a large conflict. "Large" because it's mostly the whole of one side of the community vs the other side. Comments are being thrown around everywhere, especially on sites outside of both forums. So far, it seems that most Criminal Activity has calmed, as far as I can see anyways. I hope this means that we can be more civil. Of course, there are always going to be minor conflicts, but I sincerely hope that everyone can try to move on and focus on their own community, rather than the faults of the opposite community.

I do hope the community understands that criminal activity, bullying, and harassment came only from one side, and none from The Legend of Pirates Online staff. If anyone in this community did act out against another community, it had nothing to do with TLOPO, nor was it in any way condoned by us. Several of our staff have had to contact law enforcement, myself filling a report of harassment, because of the actions of other individuals. I hope that people begin to realize that harassment is not a joke, is not a game. And I hope they see how they were acting immature and hostile.

I'm not going anywhere. TLOPOtaff and devs have done a fantastic job recreating the game. Plus, I've gotten to know so many people on here that I adore and love to talk to. AND THE DEVS AND SUPPORT CREW ROCK!!!! Thank you!!
