It's funny you say that because cursed blades made el patron's lost weapons pretty obsolete. The same will happen with cursed blades and so on.
You are defending a broken and overpowered weapon. It is demeaning to legendary cursed. Why would people spend hours trying to loot legendary cursed when they can camp at Darkhart can get this new thing? This new sword just gave a short cut to avoid that. And also, a lvl 32 got it.. not a hardcore looter that devotes a heavy amount of time to this game. At least legendary cursed weapons dictate that you need to be level 30+ because of ravens cove quest.

I'm defending a stronger legendary that is new. This sword won't discourage me from getting the other legenadries and I'm pretty sure the developers wanted players to spread out to other islands. It's not all about cursed blades you know.

"Game needs stronger weapons" as enemies are ruthlessly slaughtered in the game's current state. Honestly, the difference between what Charles is saying and what you all are wanting is Game Balance. This weapon has none of it. The combination of absolutely ridiculous perks shouldn't be obtainable -- let alone on something that is both obtainable before Raven's Cove AND beats out near every weapon released prior to it.

As somebody who has looted 6 Legendary Cursed, I can strongly say that this weapon is out of place. They can spread people out to other islands without demeaning other exisiting material in the game.

This is not an appropriate supplanting of legendary cursed blades. The raven’s cove quest was a natural progression following a leveling period that gave players ample opportunity to find the Lost Sword. Upon reaching level 30 and likely having found lost sword already, Raven’s Cove and its subsequent rewards were the natural next step.

But this sword? This is tossed in with the pool of legendaries that a player can get before even hitting level 30 - and it is better than every single one of the endgame weapons that level 50 pirates invest hundreds of hours into finding.

That is not at all analogous to the cursed blades’ effect on Lost Sword. This is more like giving Link the Master Sword before he even reaches the first dungeon

Take this new sword and try to kill palifico or the twins and it'll still take time. Like I mentioned before weapons will get stronger just like how cursed blades are stronger than the older swords.

How could you possibly justify that? The critical strike rank 5 alone is completely broken. And this weapon has health drain and a direct damage boost on top of that. This thing makes Leviathan and World Eater Blade look like a joke.
Being that I'm not a weapons pro master of any sort, I have no problems with this weapon as it does what it's supposed to do and that is in my mind to give one a chance to take on bosses solo for starters. If the pros want the blade nerfed, then I would say raise its direct damage to 100 and drop the buffs I guess.

Are peoples actual concerns about weaponry really based on PVP? Because I'm always talking about PVE or NPC play, not PVP, SVS at all.
I wish people were clear on that subject. I don't think any advantages about Jacks blade has any real bearing on the game and questing, but many people may be thinking about PVP in reality.

Since all the player would be doing is questing for themselves, I see no reason to nerf anything. Some people assume other people know what they are talking about, which isn't always the case here.

Why would anyone want to do the quest if you can just get a sword that blows it out of the water before the quest is even unlocked? That is the equivalent of discarding the bulk of this game’s content.
Well, isn't that up to the individual player to go that route? The devs made the settings. I'm willing to accept they know what they're doing with weapons and weapon ratings. Everyone's opinions should be seen. Good or bad and it's up to the reader to decide the veracity of their comments and whether to read any further from that author.

There exists a middle ground. The sword can be good without making every single legendary cursed blade totally obsolete.
Some of you guys are typing in virtual riddles with no explanation of what you are talking about. Such as the comment that a weapon gets somehow obsolete. What exactly does obsolete mean to a looter?
