Discussion Lacking a Purpose

...here's my problem. For the last three years, fighting for this dream is all I've known. All I've known is that in order to prove to my school one day that I was a good player, I had to keep going to the gym every day and battling it out with my own self doubt, as well as the doubts of others. So now that I no longer have this goal, I feel pretty aimless.

Essentially, I am the author of my life's story, but now I'm having writer's block.

So my question is this: Have any of you ever felt the same way?/Do you feel that way right now?
I've been there; feeling as if there is no singular purpose for me once a dream was visualized and strived towards but not fully obtained. That feeling...is a very uncomfortable feeling and what is worse, it begins to make you feel that your circumstance is your problem and your lack of effort (somewhere, along the way).

When we are young, we fail to understand or realize at times that "stages" of life will occur. Along the way, you'll begin to have different experiences which ultimately will both shape and mold you into the person you'll eventually become. The transition from school/school sports to real life is a huge one and while although I do understand your own (past basketball) need to want to PROVE yourself to others...the secret to a purposeful and well-intended life is to realize @Captain Jack Truesilver that...the only one to prove yourself to is you.

*Remember, LIFE is the biggest "sport" of all. ;)
