Question Lag Spikes

Hi, I just recently started playing and i have a really good pc with above the recommended specs of the game. However, i constantly get spikes in fps and quick freezes in game. Is this just how the game plays? Or am i doing something wrong? thanks

Most often that's how It plays for now ! I have a Gamer PC and mines very random , most often I run anywhere from 48 - 62 fps on other games but here it won't make it . Same as on Potco could run at avg of 50 even on Abassa .

It depends on the location. Like when you have above recommened, but not really a high end system your pc can't handle the LOD changes, specially when there are lots of models ingame. So Wild Islands will mostly run smoother then Port Royal for example...... And when there are a lot of players, npc's and or enemies spawing, you will notice some drops here and there... I have that too, but I am going to upgrade soon, so it won't bother me anymore.

A tip: Optimize your OS, boost, defrag and disable things, this gave me 15 FPS boost

I get this a lot, and my specs exceed the requirements. It's the way the game plays, and I doubt it will ever change. I can get constant 60 on medium-high settings on fortnite with no fps drops but this game i get 80 when no ones around with constant drops and stutters, 40~ with people around.

Yes, that's exactly when I get lag and stutters and teleporting artifacts. When even one other player is in the map area I can always tell.
When regretfully going on abassa because I know a group will be doing bosses, it's no better than a slide show for me and my frames drop from low 20's normal to 6 or 7 with a group. Shallows plays in kaleidoscoped slow motion. I've always had bad frame rates.
