What did you find out about this - Irene? Will the PayPal option continue to stay after the Kickstarter ends?

Yes but only for a little time. The KickStarter will probably fail so we are working on having towns done and more islands - I wouldn't advice anyone to donate with PayPal though since the amount in PayPal doesn't add up to the one in KickStarter - Also trying to find someone that can do the bodies, that way we will have more to show for the next KickStarter.

Yes but only for a little time.
If the PayPal option does not contribute in anyway to the totality of the Kickstarter fund then I would think that the option should seize entirely after the Kickstarter ends as they are just too many youngsters whom come from the POTCO community whom may become easily confused as to the availability of this option after February 2nd. *I would think that POTHS would not want to take such a risk, especially given the fact that such "donations" gained via PayPal would counter any sort of progress related to the Kickstarter.

Yes we will most likely stop the PayPal option after Feb 2, and then set it up again when we have another KickStarter

To best assist the Kickstarter, I would hope so. Otherwise, this would not look good for POTHS (for various reasons).

Thanks for answering my questions, Irene. :)

I've seen another MMO Pirates of the Burning Sea that has, in my opinion a terrible SVS, but in this matter if we were to create another "POTCO" it might end in a lawsuit, BUT there are many other Pirate MMO's out there so if you were to give it another name or change pretty much EVERYTHING it might just work and will not be realized.

That is not the same as POTCO, the sailing, loot, weapons, and everything is somewhat different than POTCO is. What you are saying here is copy EXACTLY how POTCO is, which is illegal and would end in a lawsuit.

Actually, since Disney gave up on POTCO, it is no longer owned by them, as they have no more financial stake in the game. So, it would be perfectly legal to pick up the code and rework it. Heck, a completely different team picked up Duke Nukem Forever from the Duke3D team and remade it whilst never getting a single lawsuit.

That's already being done by Pirates Online Rewritten. The thing is, Jack Sparrow is still Disney material as he is a member of the POTC films.

Name For The Game: Caribbean Pirates Online (idk)
Would You Play A POTCO ReMake: Yes
Most Important To Keep The Same: Ship types, look/feel of old potco
Most Important To Change: Grahpics and Pirates of the Caribbean feel
Other Suggestions:
-Keep old map/islands
-Same character looks but enhanced
-Old Weapon System
Other Thoughts: I think it would do REALLY great if you kept the feel of the game which will bring many fans on board

Name For The Game: There is already a name and I like it
Would You Play A POTCO ReMake: Definitely
Most Important To Keep The Same: Ship types
Most Important To Change: Graphics and more quests
Other Suggestions:
-add new weapons
-maybe you could add houses like the one on Tortuga where it is like a little shack so you can hang out with friends or alone if you wish
-you should add a weapon training area where you can practice without getting hurt
Other Thoughts: I think that if it was a non-profit game and everybody could access the same stuff more people would probably play. My only problem that I had with potco was that I had to have unlimited access and once I was level 14 all I could do was plunder ships and fight enemies. I also didn't have anymore quests to do resulting in me quitting the game for a long time. Besides from that, it is a very great game. It is also the first online game I ever played so it made me sad when it was closed. I would defiantly like to see it be revived.
