Live chat gone?

I know that it was a holiday and there might of been a break in Disney's offices but when live chat is usually closed, it still appears on the Help sections. However, the last 3 days I have not seen Live chat option at all. This happen before or is this something new where they remove the option when live chat is not open or are they planning on removing live chat completely?

Any ideas?

One possibilty is that they are making some changes to the live chat so they just took it down for the time being.

I emailed Disney and this was their reply:
Hello there,

Thanks for taking the time to write us. At this time, we will no longer be offering Live Chat as a service. While Live Chat is a convenient option, for technical issues we are able to gather more detailed information through the use of the “Report a Bug” feature on our website, which will be used to trouble shoot your issue.

There was some other info between the link and signature, but it was about something else. So I don't know if they will bring it back or not, as they said "At This time" Who knows with Disney

Sounds like some people got laid off at Disney POTCO. In their letter all I heard was "We can no long afford to pay our Live Chat Technicians while the Report A Bug forms go to our Developers that we have to keep around."

I certainly hope they didn't fire anyone. And their statement about gathering more info through the Report A Bug isn't completely true. They just need to add, if not already had, a way to send files to them through the live chat.

I remember when they offered a phone number in the help section. Now all that's left is email form to report a bug. I really don't think the report a bug feature is more convenient because it takes forever to get replies there and sometimes there is no reply at all. Live chat offered quick answers though somettimes the workers didnt know what they were talking about... Actually reporting bugs never seems to work either way because I have reported many and they only fix ones that they want tO fix but in live chat I could at least get answers quick that did not have to do with bugs or glitches...

This is sad because the way I see it is that they are slowly heading toward a closure. I hope I am wrong but looking at the work being done in POTCO and the technical support being offered, the only future I see is an end. That is unless Disney somehow changes their ways and takes POTCO more serious.

They should, I mean with Pirates of the Caribbean being one of the most successful movie franchises in History, you would think that they would be working hard to make sure anything affiliated with it would be nothing short of the best. They could make millions with the game (Disney only cares about money), if they would simply make some improvements, First start actually listening to us on what we want to see in the game, fixing all bugs and glitches, upgrading the game software, adding servers, things that would help the game in the short and long term. But it seems they just don't want to, or are making us wait.

I asked and they said the exact same thing. Though, my friend gave me a new link for live chat: https://sales.liveperson.net/hc/48157380/?cmd=file&file=visitorWantsToChat&site=48157380

I'm wondering if they had ended chat because they found it inefficient or because they were harassed by users? Either way, I find it easier to use. Email often takes forever for them to respond to- especially since they have so many emails. Although I don't want to be negative, if POTCO ever does really start descending, I vote Davy Darkrage to be the new owner. :)

Not to completely go off-topic here but what you said - Kate - has happened in the past. :sad1:

If ye interested, please take a moment to read this article (however article is 'past' news & was written in Jan. of 2011). *POTCO is not mentioned anywhere within the article but, I just found it interesting & thought maybe others would as well, idk.

Their phone number doesn't even work D: i want to transfer a pirate to my other account for security reasons, and the hackers lately i don't feel safe knowing someone is probably on your account without you knowing!...
