Do you prefer to loot alone or in a group?

POTCO is a social game that allows or even encourages players to work together but you have the option to play alone. Some argue that they prefer to work in groups to go after bigger enemies, have healers and get crew bonus. Others prefer to loot alone so they don't share rep.

My gut tells me most like to work in a group and enjoy the social part of the game. However, almost all guilds have rules about asking to teleport and lots of people prefer quiet servers.

How do you usually loot? Gather a crew? Find a quiet spot?

I remember when I had first started in 2010 I didn't know the language very well so I was a loner, looting alone and avoiding abassa, I think I was getting cranky too when someone was popping in my looting spot without even saying hi :P
Now I don't mind and as I voted - Depends on my mood -, when I'm not feeling well and I need time alone I just go solo, but most of the time I'm with crews in abassa or if some friend joins me looting :pepe:

I personally find solo looting better than group looting, quality-of-loot-wise. Although I enjoy looting with a crew, I am never very successful in a group loot, I find group loots are more for the fun and social enjoyment than actual loot for me. When I actually do "real looting" I prefer to be alone, as I have been a lot more successful alone than in a group loot.

For me, I get good loot when in crew with group. I remember I was with a good friend when I got my emerald curse , black shark blade while on loot runs and course silver freeze at smasho in abassa.

Also, I got all my bright green clothes in Remington with my guild mates. So, I guess whatever works with everyone as long as you are having fun :)And yes, I also use LFC when I don't have somebody to loot with and I get to meet new people lol.

Well I got my WEB while looting alone, and my Thunderspine with a group. I guess it really depends on what I wanna do at the time, or my current opportunities, but I voted alone, because that's how I usually end up looting, and have gotten 90% of my loot.

I only decide to stay and loot with a group when 1 or 2 people are already there. Last thing I want is to have two level 50 jerks hogging the results. Otherwise I loot alone. They only exception is General Darkhart.

It all depends on how I am feeling that day. If I am feeling sociable, I'll most likely try to loot with some of my guildmates and have a very good time. However, if I feel the need for privacy, I kind of "clam up" and go either to Tormenta or Dark Hart and keep switching servers until I find one of those spots empty and I'll loot and level alone.

Well, I will vote depends on mood but more accurately it depends on where I am looting. I like to have some other strong players with me when I loot a Boss since we can kill them faster and as a result open more loot. If youhave a group I like to mix up the weapons and use some of my newest blades or guns to test them out. I rarely do DH because of the big crowds but I do like to have about 4 or 5 when doing Blanco or such. I like to run laps in Tormenta and that is pretty much a solo effort since I just one shot kill them with a gun. Every now and again someone tp's and wants to run with me and that is a fail. I find I get more loot by running than standing in the gold room and fighting with swords. I do the south idol sometimes and blunder the ghosts. It is amazingly boring and the loot there is the worst with the exception of the occasional famed in a chest. The only reason I do it after saying that is because I can watch a ball game and just blast them as they spawn. I never fails that someone runs in and most the time they are nice and ask to join and I always say yes. Not so much because I want company but because it is a public game and they have as much right to be there as I do. I always like company at sea...

Optigreen The level cap really does not bother me, the fact that there is not anything to do to get max further is what bugs me. There really is no point in raising it if you ask me until they add more to the game. Hence the reason why I see more accts with multiple maxed pirates. I have a few friends that have maxed out pretty much every pirate on their acct.

Forum thread, states what all the level 50s could have fun doing. :P

I see what you are getting at though. :)

Depends. If I'm leveling my pirate, it might be nice to have a small crew, perhaps a healer to help me level quicker. But if I'm just looting in Tormenta, then I typically prefer to be alone.

So far the results appear clear. Most of us will split our time between looting alone or in small groups.

The good news is that POTCO allows us both social and "alone time" opportunities. Personally, I go through spurts where looting or sailing alone fits my mood while other times joining a group and laughing at bad jokes makes my day.
