Should the required sailing rank for War ships be reduced?

I think they should be lowered to a minimum of level 10, because leveling sailing on normal class ships is so much of a pain, I think people will be turned of by it...

If it is to be reduced, I'd say reduced to 13. But I'm fine with it not being reduced, since you'll learn how each ship handles.

While I do see your point behind maybe wanting to decrease it, here's a couple issues that fall in line with your argument here.
1. Sailing is a key element of the game's system, and on that topic, attraction too. Not many games can pull sailing off correctly, so it is only proper to advertise long-term sailing as a primary element of the game.

As someone who hates sailing with a burning passion, I definitely see why you'd want it to be reduced. However, objectively it's better at level 15. It would be too easy otherwise.

2. Seeing as the other classes of ships fall in line at intervals of 5 (Lights @ 0, and Standard class ships at 5, it would only make sense to keep it on an interval of 5, either being 10 or 15, and the problem with the latter of which is the player can only make so much gold by 10, making it a bit senseless and difficult to grind anything higher than at maximum a War Galleon by 10.)

3. My third point kind of falls with a different method of fixing that stalemate that happens when you're in between level 5-15, possibly scaling your cannoneering a bit higher early on to make it easier to grind out that experience. This is of course nullified if you put a few levels into your cannons before beginning sailing, but it's not a common feat.

After reading this, I get why its at 15 :)

I feel like there’s no reason to change it. It’s satifying once you’re finally able to buy a warship, but it’s not too bad of a grind (it’s still annoying).

Yeah I see what you're saying but the only reason I upped the levels for war and middle was to make the grind more rewarding because I was able to get 15 in 1 night back then and it's not as rewarding if you can get a warship in 1 night.

I like the idea of a middle class ship at lvl 10, something to make sailing a little more tolerable instead of trying to sink ships in a dingy lol. Btw, I currently have one pirate at lvl 12 sailing sitting at max gold, so it can be doable to have the money for ships at lvl 10 sailing. Not everyone jumps out of the tutorial wanting to max sailing right away lol. I totally hate the grind because it seems like the rep has fallen since potc. My boyfriend lvls my sailing and just us (me lvling his cannons) I can get over 100 rep, while the most he seems to get is an average of 50 rep (sometimes 80 rep but not the average rep).

Middle/medium class ships are unlocked at sailing 5, war class ships are rank 15.
Light ships are unlocked... after you land on PR, I think. But I think having the war class stay at 15 is fine. Though it would be interesting to see ships unlock through the ranks of levels, instead of them being unlocked all at once...

Oooo I do like the idea of like war sloop at 15, galleon at 17, and brig and frigate at like 20.
