Ok, so if you guys watch the game last night ( 8:30 ESTRN Standard 1-9-12 ) You may have noticed that Bama beat LSU By 21!!! ( 21 bama 0 LSU1 )
Let's give a big WOOT for Bama!!!

I live here in Bama and all my family ( except for me ) graduated from the University of Alabama. ROLL TIDE ROLL. It was an exciting day and sweet payback for the defeat LSU handed to us earlier in the season.

If you don't live here then it's hard to understand the importance of football in this state. The last 3 National Champion teams are from here ( Alabama and Auburn ) - that alone should tell you something. If you move here from another state you are pretty much forced to choose a side ( Alabama fan or Auburn fan ) and the day those two meet each year - the entire state comes to a stand still. When my kids were young I would take them to the mall a couple of hours before the "Iron Bowl" game on a Saturday because I knew there would not be a line to see Santa and I could walk right up, the kids could give Santa their list, flash flash pictures, then home before the game even began.

It's a unique experience. I'm sure some of you have similar rivalries in your state/country/town.

ROLL TIDE!!

Ah yes ... I can relate to your story, Kat. I'm not either a LSU or an Alabama's fan, of course, since I'm not from any of those states. So it really doesn't matter that much who won the BSC Championship. Congratulations, Alabama!

I live closeby though, close enough to have some of Alabama's or Auburn's fans live in this state. We do have that rivalry in our state, between UGA & Ga Tech. And these folks are usually die-hard fans, that in small and casual conversations, choosing sides could become sparks in those conversations. The day those two teams meet, the state is divided; and ppl are not 'brothers' for a day. ;)

The thing is, my favorite team sometimes is viewed as being 'snobby' since it's a tech school that produces engineers ... and Idk why it has to be like that ... I'd say there are a lot more of UGA fans than Ga Tech's fans. And also it's a little strange, that I see a lot more Alabama and Auburn fans in my area than my own state's fans (Ga Tech). :lol1: A lot more of their nick-nacks on the stores ...

... my house is full of Gold-Old Navy/Black-White color though ... :D

Poor LSU I really wanted them to win. I'm not an LSU follower (Hurricanes :P) but I hoped for them to win but sadly that didn't happen.

Personally I HATE Bama, but I was actually glad to see them beat LSU. My town is about 75% LSU fans so I guess I just got tired of hearing them brag.

I would of been more interested if it was Auburn playing Bama (yeah I know they sucked this year).
