Sailing MEGATHREAD: Hanging/frozen loading screens (ship docking, etc)

When entering Devil's Anvil by sea, the loading progress seems to be stuck before it even technically begins.

Randomly when i Dock a ship it keeps it in the loading thing and freezes. It just happend to me again and i was sailing for about an hour and got lots of materials and skull chest.

Yeah, this tends to happen. I've heard people say if everyone is off the cannons it helps you dock, but I've disconnected many times with on one on the cannons, or any other action at all, and still had people disconnect. Then, I've docked fine with people running around and firing cannons where it didn't show anyone disconnecting.

The good thing is, even if you disconnect, you still get your money and mats. If that was not the case, I would have lost over 50k gold this month from disconnecting.

If you want to see what you lost, open a new launcher and log into the game while the loading screen is still open. When you get to the Character Selection Screen, swap back to the other screen, and it should show you what you have. Be careful though, one time I did this, and it was just taking time to load, so I screwed myself.

Ive landed on when I dock when going past or along the side of a island rather than docking head on into it.
I do t know if this has just been luck or whether it is a actual fix. But give it a try and let me know :)

I know this has been an issue for everyone, but lately I haven't been able to successfully bring in a single haul.
I've tried putting everything on low graphics as suggested by fellow players but still happens.

I've spent the last 3 hours doing multiple loot and material runs, and every single time i port with full cargo i crash... I've tried every possible way to solve it, and nothing works... its really sad that i get nothing from a massive run, that I've captained.

Someone please help!!!

This seems to be a common issue at the moment. I crash everytime I fill up my 24 cargo ship with goodies. So for now instead of sailing my own ship solo or with crew, I go on public ships to shoot cannon and repair. They fill up cargo much quicker and I land and collect loot 70% of the time :)
When they get round to fixing this issue I will go back to looting with my own ship :)
Until then I will use public. It will get fixed at some point so I really don't mind. Also I make a lot of new friends on public ships and have a lot of fun :D

I have done almost everything in my power to prevent the crashes. I've checked off fancy loading screen, I've turned off sound before porting, I've got people to get off cannon before porting, I've stoped my ship before porting, I've turned non aggressive memory conservation or whatever it is, and I still lost 5 Loot Skull Chests, and probably countless amounts of more loot to an infinite loading screen.

This is getting annoying.

Its not as frequent as others have been stating, but it really puts a damper on the enjoyment if there's a 50/50 chance that your 30 minute mat run might just end in you having to force close the game.

I know there's nothing I can do about it, and most likely the devs are working hard to try and fix it if it is really a problem, but it makes me afraid to sail :p

I'm just not sailing until it's fixed. Since I had it happen repeatedly with good stuff. Like once I had 20 skulls. )_)

I feel your pain! Lot's are having the same experience including me, one great thing that you may not have noticed is that if you ported and it crashed YOU STILL GET YOUR MATERIALS! YAY! (Check your totals before and after) The Crew have done a wonderful thing making that happen somehow.

The only thing is of course is you don't get to know what was hiding inside those wonderful loot chests

Some things that can help is playing with your graphics settings, lower resolution I can't remember what I chose but it was like 960 x 768 or something weird:confused:

Then if you fiddle with the settings in your set up options try different combinations, I think I got it to where it almost didn't crash at all with most things on "low" plus "Aggressive Memory Conservation" on, "Shadder" off etc. I was told turning the music off may help but... in the end it looked so "****" I went back to crashing now and then, hope that helps:D

There seems to also be a bug for ship captains that when the captain is using certain skills , and he types in chat right before porting they dc. I have been on ships where this happened and where captain would return, type in chat like they were sorry or some such, and boom....dc again.
This happened on a couple of ships, and I hope they are reporting in game. It hasn't happened to me yet personally while captain, so I'm not sure whats what on the specifics.
