MEGATHREAD: Hunters/Warships/Ship Upgrades

Super happy to have the hunters back, but they're buggy. Was on my second pirate, low level, hunting Panthers and Sentinels. Got Scoundrel something-or-other bounty hunter after me with only 3/6 cargo. And it was tp-ing all over the place. Managed to sink the Sentinel I was after, Scoundrel whatsit vanished, but then I crashed.

I was on a ship since the start of the voyage. When I crashed, we had 10 rare ship materials, and some other loot pouches and chests. When i get back we get two more rare ship materials. I only got the 2. A half hour of work for 7 iron. Kind of annoying. If anyone has a fix for this It would be appreciated. I'm guessing I didn't get the loot because when I crashed and came back I wasn't "there" to receive it?

v1.1.0 to v1.1.3 - If anyone escapes their pursuing Hunters and Warships by porting, (Possibly also by crashing or being sunk?) those ships will switch their target to other aggressive pirates nearby, but something in their AI or net code breaks. They sail normally for a few seconds, then sort of fall out of time for between five and fifteen seconds, dead in the water firing randomly at nothing, and then suddenly teleport to the position they 'meant' to be in relative to their new target. This cycle continues for the rest of their existence, and makes them both annoying and stupidly easy to sink.

Note that if someone aggros a Hunter in this state, and then escapes from it in turn, it will continue forever on its pursuit path, teleporting at high speed through islands and presumably off the edge of the map. This event is possibly not great for server stability.

I have also observed hunters doggedly circling and attacking empty patches of ocean, and in one case a fishing boat. In this state they cannot be distracted from their 'target' and represent a free source of upgrade materials. When sunk, a new hunter will spawn and move to the same empty location to continue the assault.

While I'm here, shouldn't attacking another ship's hunters immediately place a bounty on your own head?

Hunters also teleport. But so do normal ships, and especially ghost ships. I hate lining up a shot and having the target ship jump or make a 90 degree turn in zero time.

Just something I noticed -- When you take the sails off the hunters, say when you get warships after you, in order to focus on said warships for rare ship materials, the bounty hunters will still chase you at full speed without sails, when really they shouldn't be able to move at all.

Huh, It isn't just hunters that continue to move at full speed and attack. More than half the ships I take the sails off of continue to move and shoot at me. Not quite right or fair.

Worst bug seems to be that war ships and hunters just randomly stop respawning.
I can second to that motion. At times it works like normal, others its a case you get one hunter, and then no hunters spawn for you but warships will still spawn just fine at times. Sometimes vice-versa. Some other times, neither will ever spawn. :l

There is also the issue of ships broadsiding and missing.... They appear to be behind you, but when they broadside, it shows the broadside missing, however the damage still goes through... This also happens in SvS and with regular ships. Seems as though it could be tied to the render issue of ships appearing only when you're nearly on top of them.

After this last patch yesterday at 6:20 PM PST, the Hunter Light Sloops all are not performing correctly. They do hit and run attacks often travelling through islands if you're near them and going way out of range. They do near instant 360 degree turns while moving at their top speed. They only slow down while stopping to shoot and then zip off again. If you're lucky you have time for 1 shot before they are gone. Near impossible to sink.

I'm going to assume you mean war sloops, as bounty hunters are all war ships. As for the bug, when I first went back out on a mat run and saw that first war sloop hunter flying around I was laughing so hard, but my lord are they so annoying to sink. When your broadside locks on to them the shots fly SO FAST and in such a random direction it's hilarious.

The war sloop hunters are the worst but it affects all hunters, they moving, turning way to fast and rubber banding. A lot of times my broadsides are shooting straight behind me or scattering all over, they can't lock on. Not to mention the times when the opposite broadside fires instead.

Can't port, and i have 22 ship mats in the hold. Any advice would be helpful, can't just sit here in the ocean forever, so may be forced to leave the ship.

I'm sure you are aware - BUT - you aren't required to port at a certain port due to your bounty are you?

I meant the war sloop hunters. All of them. And yes, the other hunters have their bugs but they are still manageable. The sloops are the worst so thought it should be addressed first.
