Yes. We just had a immense upgrade very recently of a whole new version of graphic engine and coding. A lot of it my be on our end.
Since you're starting back in, it also would be helpful to the staff/devs if you can make some reports as you go.
Here's a link to help with that.

And oh my, hearing your name would cause waves of fear and panicked scattering of .... of ...kittens EVERYWHERE!

I am continuing to get the white-out crash, when entering Thieves Den.
I have attached the log.

thanks for all you do!

Ahoy everyone, I have a potential workaround for white screen crashing in the Lava Gorge on Padres del Fuego!

FYI @ TLOPOStaff
The crash logs show this error about 40 times, right at the time of the freeze:
:04-03-2020 17:17:44 :audio(error): Could not open audio audio/sfx_fire_loop.ogg
:04-03-2020 17:17:44 :audio(error): Cannot open file: audio/sfx_fire_loop.ogg

Troubleshooting done:
I disabled the audio effects and music and went into the cave. NO FREEZING!
I played for a bit, working on my quest and then turned sound effects back on. Still no freeze!
Once I turned the music back on..BOOM...FREEZE/White screen.

So, current workaround that might help you in the Lava Gorge: Disable the music before going into the cave. If it is still running poorly, try disabling the sound effects too.

I'll have to look at the crash logs from other caves to see if those also appear to be related to the music. Worth trying out if you really wanna go in a cave that is freezing on ya!

See ya in the game mateys,
Edward Blastbones

Thank you very much, we will look into this. I encourage anybody to try this if you're struggling with the white screen crash, it doesn't hurt to try.

Once again having freezing issues, Lava Gorge, Beckett's quarry and El Patron's mine on Raven's, i have no problem accessing any location on Tortuga, don't about any other islands though.

Maybe telling but I've never experienced the white screen of death, perhaps because I've not had my audio and music turned on for the last 3 updates. Tonight I'll turn it on and see what happens. All audio will be enabled at start-up screen and try PdF right away.

Ran a unscientific test on the production server with the ocean that starts with 'F'. Can't spell it right now. I noted an update as I logged in as well, roughly 5:50 est.
Level 50 all maxed pirate. What I did was to go to the lava cave entrance- named as los padres on the f8 map, and do a series of audio enabled tests. I started with just the first item on the audio list enabled only. Went in and out the cave 3 times, changing weapons when entering again each time in was with levi, grenades or rare repeater gun and each round was 3 to 4 circuits of 4 skells and 2 scorps. This was an average of 3 minutes each inside run.

After the final run, I would exit and run to the gypsy and interact just to introduce some time between tests. I then exited to desktop where upon re-logging I enabled the bottom selection-mates voice. 2nd test was with top and bottom audio enabled and music still off.

Did the 2nd complete circuit, frame rates were as expected for my time on since peppy at about 20 -30 fps. Which is triple of what I had pre-pepp. Nothing unusual and no white outs or any noticeable loss of frames.

Exited out, back in and set ALL audio selections on. 3rd test, upon entering lava gorge I noticed a consistent loss of at least 50% frames and jittering when facing skells. On the second round when exiting the cave for last weapon change, I saw a nano second of the white opaque over the whole window, about an eye blink long and on this I can't be sure, but I seemed to appear outside in a different part of the map.
The 3rd and last of the all on audio cave entry was also without any screen freeze, but reduced fps and noticeable lagging.

I tried a forth time with just the music enabled and the fps was slightly reduced for sure, jitters but no white screens in 3 entries.

I did notice the skells would expand as big as a barrel sometimes when killed. But aside from that and the instant white, I was not able to make it fail.

I didn't feel it necessary at this time to post logs as I didn't experience any freeze.

@Tlopo Staff these are the warnings and errors that repeat a bunch at the time of white screen/crash in Thieve's Den on Tortuga. Pretty much the same as on Lava Gorge.

We thank you for your reporting.

We have confirmed the issue is related to audio as you suspected. If anybody is having these issues, disable all your audio settings. We have a potential fix that we are working on.

For the main story quest I need to search for an item in an EITC outpost in thieves den. Every time I’m about to walk in into the outpost my game crashes. I have tried turning off all my audio and teleporting to a friend already in there but both still result in me crashing. Anyone have any other workarounds or know when this is going to be fixed. I’m very frustrated because this is required for the main story quest and can’t continue until this is fixed.

Can you upload the log like Feralboys did above?

White Screen not fixed for me either. I have my sound effects and music disabled. I tried on different servers and got same results.

Log 1: Wild Woods to Thieves Den. White Screen immediately after loading screen.
Log 2: Tortuga Graveyard to Thieves Den. White Screen immediately after loading screen.
Log 3: Tortuga Graveyard to Rat's Nest. Works perfectly. Log shows the same audio error that occurs in Thieves Den but no white screen.
Log 4: Beckett's Quarry - I am able to play for a while, but it lags and stutters often. About halfway between the entrance and Catacombs it White Screens.

Thanks for the hard work on trying to fix this! Hopefully you find a solution soon!

Sorry if this has been mentioned already but I didn't want to read through all 21 pages of posts lol.. Are they aware of the bosses disappearing? I've only seen it on the populated server so not sure if elsewhere but last nite the Twins and Pal were both missing from their areas....
