Sailing MEGATHREAD: Sailing (Non-Hunter)/Ships/Lack of Ships

Bug: Sailing

Enemy ships do not conform to the laws of physics and break every rule possible to reach the pirate. (Eg: Traveling through each other, War Galleon/Frigate combo)

Ships pop-in as you sail. The seas appear to be empty, until a war combo ship blows you up.

On another note, there are a multitude of refinements and improvements (big and small) that have been made to the game and I crash less often. So thanks devs, and keep it up.

I think that the oceans are populated, however there are pop-in issues making ships appear only when you're much closer. It seems like the ocean is empty while it isn't.
 
Just some stuff I say was small ships like navy ferret and viper spawn in each other sometimes. Not that big but still weird
 
Ships barely spawn at all in my experience.
Actually, the ships are there, you just can't see them. The ocean seems empty but it's full of ships. What's going on is that for some reason they don't appear from long distances. I noticed after probably being around 500 feet away from a ship, it spawns (or rather appears on screen). This is one of the bigger bugs they need to look at because it ruins the otherwise great experience out at sea. It also could cause issues when privateering.
 
Hi, When i click the anchor to enter the island, it spawns pe under it, also when i click to enter the ship to sail, it spawns me in water, in ship texture.

Yeah i get this issue sometimes too, try to find the lowest point of land to spawn you up.
 
Flagship enemies seem to all stay in one spot and they are able to hit you even if you're not in range - for the Undead Flagships at least. Also, when on Flagships the long volley for grenades doesn't seem to work. It would either freeze up or just do a normal throw.

Yeah I noticed that too. It worked on and off.
